This invention has for its object the provision of evacuating devices for dealing with waste scraps from kitchens by means of a fixture over the sink operated by a flushing of water and the reception of the scraps thus diverted into drainingboxes placed under ground.

With this object each kitchen is provided with a sink-drainer placed under the water tap, whicn is prevented from overflowing by a waste preventing device and the liquid seal ing of which is assured by means of a siphon;

furthermore the sink-drainer is provided at its base with a plug or obturating valve that is operated when the scraps are to be ejected.

The annexed drawings shew, by way of example two methods of carrying the invention into ei'l'ect.

In the drawings Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of one form of sink-drainer made according to the invcntion.

The sink-drainer shown in Fig. 1 comprises a sink of stone, enamelled cast iron or other suitable material, a, placed under the kitchen tap, which receives the washing water used I for the hands, vegetables, and crockery, etc. and comprising at its central part a removable sieve or plate 6 of aluminium or other suitable material, provided with apertures 0 for the passage of water and its reception in a truncated conical bodyd which supports the sink a. The base of the body (Z is fixed to a cone 6 seated and sealed in the floor.

A device for the evacuation of waste scraps from kitchens directly by sink-drainers comprising: a sink body with a rim; a lower truncated conical body supporting the body of the sink and receiving the water coming from this latter, a centralinetallic cover to direct the scraps in the truncated conical body; a movable plate covering the open bottom of the body of the sink; holes for the passage of water in this plate; a central movable waste pipe overiow openings at theupper part of this pipe; an obturating valve fixed to the base of this waste pipe; a tight packing disposed at the exterior of the valve, a seat for the obturating valve formed at the base of the truncated conical body, a seated conduit placed under the base of the drainer; a bowl or cup with a siphon disposed in the interior of the plug and into which dips the base of the waste pipe, and a discharge pipe.
