Description

B. PIER BOUDOIR CAP' Filed Sept. 4, 1926 Inventor (Fer/flea B 3 f Httarney Heb. l2,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BERNICE PIER, OF NOKOIYIIS, ILLINOIS.
BOUDOIB GAE.
The present invention relates'to caps and more particularly to ladies boudoir caps and an iu'iportant object ot the invention resides in the provision of a boudoir cap which may be placed in a relatively flat position Whereby the entire surface of the cap may be easily accessible when it is desired to iron the same during the laundering process.
Another very important object of the in Vhl'llilOIl resides in the provision of a boudoir cap of this nature With a simple construction that is attractive in appearance, cheap of manufacture, and comfortable when it is fixed upon the head of the wearer.
With these and numerous other objects in view as Will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novelties ot construction and in the arrangement of parts as Will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 a side elevation of the cap embodying features of my invention,
Figure 2 is a plan view of the cap in a relatively flat position,
Fi ure 3 is another side elevation thereof.
Referring to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that the body 5 is made up of an oblong piece of cloth having its side edges towards one end slightly converging relatively narrow col (3 is provided at said end of the body 5 and. a relatively Wide mil 7 is provided at the other end thereof. '.l1esc culls enten d transversely of the body and are formed to be attractive in appearance. A pair of spaced buttonholes 8 are arranged along each edge of the body and the top 7 as indicated at 8. A single buttonhole 9 is provided intermediate the ends of each longitudinal edge of the body. A pair of buttons 10 and 11 are arranged along each longitudinal edge of the body adjacent the cut? end 6.
When the top is in the relatively flat position shown in Fig. 2 it is foldedbver upon itself so that the butto 11 are engaged in the end open 8 and the buttons 10 engaged in the other end opeliiings 8. The openings 9 are then engaged over the buttons thus completing the boudoir cap in its position to be placed. over the head.
It will be seen that the structure is ex ccedingly simple, inexpensive to manufacture, and may be made very attractive in appearance. No, skill is required in the manipulation of the cap to its different positions and thus the laundering of the cap is made relatively easy.
lVhile I have described What I believe to bethe most desirable en'ibodinient of my invention, it is obvious that many of the details may be varied Without in any way doparting from the spirit of my invention, and I therefore do not linnt myself to the exact details of construction herein set forth nor to anything less than the Whole of my invention liinited only as hereinafter claimed.
Having thus described my invention What I claim new is:
A boudoir cap having'an elongated body provided on each long-i adinal edge adjacent one end With a pair of liiingituilinally placed button holes, and a bl'itton hole at the intermediate portion of the body, and a pair of longitudinally spaced buttons on each lon itudinal edge of the body adjacent the other end thereof, said buttons adapted to pass through the end button holes and one of the buttons on each longitudinal edge of the body being adapted to pass through the respective intern'iediate button hole. V
In testimony Whereot I afiix my signature.
