Another advantage of the present invention is that the unloading devices? of any preferred type may be controlled through the same pilot valve so that the compressor may be unloaded4 when the receiverpressure ex ceeds a predetermined maximumand also jwhen the speed of the compressor falls below a predetermined limit, due to failure of,

Briefly, and in its broadest aspect, my in- .vention comprises the following principal parts: First, "-'a body member; second, two ixed valve seats therein; third, a valve in the body member movable between said seats; l i
fourth, .a spring pressed rodnormally holdin g the valve in one position; ifth, a spring preferably surrounding the rod; sixth, meansl to regulate the pressure exerted by said spring against said rod; seventhpmanual means to move the rod against the pressure of said sprm and permitvmovement of said Yalve;
eight a second spring pressedI rod adapted to be moved into-contact with said valve ninth, pressure means acting directly againstf said valve; and tenth, means .to force said second rod against said valve to force said valve away from one of itsv seats. f

As the unloading means may be of any usual or well-known'type or types, it is not thought necessaryv to illustrate them. Normallyl holding the valve 17 against one of the seats, 16 in the'present'instance, is a spring pressed rod 19, the upper end ofiwhich bears'directly against the valve 17. To force@ this ,'rod .19 upward .to hold the valve 17 against the seat`16 isa spring 20, one end of which is suitably attached tothe body member 10. yThe lower end of the spring engages 40 or hasnot been-brought uptonormalwhen a nut N ut 22 is internally threaded for Ia'n adjusting screw 23, the upper end of which engages the lower end of rod 20.'
The' above construction of pilot valve corresponds to' that disclosed in my Patent 1,523,716 granted January 20, 1925. By varying the effective length of the spring 20 and the position of the screw 23 the pressure vat which the valvev 17 may open and also its sensitivity to variations of pressure may be regulated.

A cam 29 having a handle thereon 17 is Kfree to open and admit receiver pressure .from opening 14 tothe opening 11 and thence to an .desired unloading devlces.

The space 'above the diaphragm or movable member is 4adaptedto be connected through an opening 31 to a conduit extending to a centrifugally controlled valve.
This centrifugally-controlled valve may be similar to that shown in my Patent from the space above e valve 17 Y 1,561,886 granted November 17, 1925. When the spee 'ofthe compressor 'is belowl normal starting the compressor, pressure is supplied tothe spaceabove the diaphragm or movable member 30. This diaphragm or movable member is therefore forced downward and forces a rod 32 downward into contact .with the-up er surface of valve-17, vthus moving valve 1 to its open position. 'As shown, the
