IMPROVEMENT IN BALE-TIES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 169,521, dated November 2, 1875 application filed April 26, 1875.
lb all whom it may concern Be it known-v that I, CHAS. H. CHASE, of New Orleans, Louisiana, have invented a new and Improved Buckle or Fastening for Bale- Ties, which fastening can be used in connecprojections 6 and 7, intended to guide the lower end of the hoop in its passage upward through the buckle, are also shown in the front view K andalso the wedge 8, for tightening the hoop in the cufi. K shows the form of the opening in the cufl or clasp, and also an edge view of the hoop with rivet 5. The end of the hoop 0 may be bent around the lower end of the clasp, or riveted, as shown in the drawing. The cuff may be made with an opening through either the front or back part of it, in order that the hoop may be inserted edgewise.
Having explained my improved buckle, clasp, or cuff, so. that one skilled in the arts can manufacture the same, the following claim is made: a
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
