SHAVING BRUSH.
Application filed. April 15, 1927. Serial no. 184,019.
My invention relates to shaving brushes. The object of my invention 1s the production of'a shaving brush having a detachable bunch of bristles, that is, a shaving brush, the 5 handi of which is detachable from the bristles.
Another object of my invention is the )roduction of a shaving brush, Whose bristles are supplied With soap, so that the shaving cups are thereby eliminated.
7 Another object of my invention is to produce an individual shaving brush, that is, a brush that is ready to be used just by moisten- I ing it with Water, and may be detached from the handle after use.
The invention will be hereinafter considered in detail and specifically claimed. Reference will now be had to the drawing forming a part of this application, wherein. there is illustrated a preferred embodiment of m invention, but it is understood that the elements thereof can be varied or changed as for shape, size, or form without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawing I show a-vertical sectional view of the brush showing the detachable handle and means to hold the bristles in the handle. 7
10 represents a handle preferably made of soft rubber, with a broadflat bottom 11 and opening or neck 12 to receive the bristles.
The neck 12 of the brush issomewhat con that a sanitary shaving brush is thereby prostricted, for the purpose which will presently be explained.
The bristles are folded over on themselves and are tied together by means of string or wire 13. The ends of the bristles are then dipped in a soap solution and are allowed to dry. The end 14 of the bristlesis then in sertcd into the rubber head 10, which grips the end and holds it tightly in place. The constricted neck 12 grips the bristles firmly I and holds them in place.
From theabove description it Will be seen duced, by means of which no other vessels are needed to produce a lather for a shave,and
the cost toproduce the bristles is so small that the bristles may be removed, and another set of bristles substituted after every shaving.
Having described my invention, What I claim is l In a shaving brush, the combination of a tuft of bristles comprising bristles folded over and tied together at the folded portion, and a handle consisting of a single hollow member of yielding rubber having a neck portion provided with a restricted opening to receive said tuft of bristles, said neck being of such a diameter as to grip the tuft and hold it in place and being deformable to permit the removal of the tuft and replacement of a similar tuft.
