brushed without requiring a separate and distinct article for this purpose such as commonly used.
1 Another object is to provide a device of this character which can be easily carried and can be manufactured at low cost.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds the invention resides in certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts which will be hereinafter more fully described and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings the preferred form of the invention has been shown.
In said drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of the device. Figure 2 is a longitudinal section there gh- Referring to the figures by characters of ates a pencil of. the usual type employed or darkening the eyebrows.
Thispencil is provided at one end with a sleeve 2 which can be of metal, hard rubber, or other suitable material. This sleeve projects beyond the shank of the pencil and constitutes the bridle of a small cylindrical brush 3 the bristles of which are thus held firmly to the pencil.
In using the device the point of the pencil is applied as ordinarily after which the pencil is reversed and the brush is used on the eyebrowsfor smoothing the eyebrows and spreading the coloring material evenly.
It will be noted that this device can be manufactured cheaply and is especially advantageous because it combines in one article both the pencil and the brush which, heretofore, have been in separate parts.
What is claimed is:
A device of the class described including an eyebrow pencil pointed at one end, a sleeve secured to the other end and projecting therebeyond, and brush bristles gripped by the sleeve, said sleeve constituting a bridle.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto affixed my signature.
