IMPROVEMENT IN CAR-VENTILATORS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 168,897, dated October 19, 1875; application filed January 25, 1875.
' To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARCHIBALD HANOE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Car Ventilators, of which the following is a specification The invention consists in aseries of pivoted ventilators or valves connected at one side or edge by means of a strap or bar, so that they may be operated simultaneously by means of a curved pivoted rack-bar. Another (and the main) function of the valve-connecting bar is to act as a stop for the valves when opened, or

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a cross-section of the roof of a streetcar, showing the construction of the ventilatorvalves and mode of operating them. Fig. 2 is a side view of the roof, giving an outside view of the "entilating-valves on one side of the car.
