This invention relates to. improvements in curtain'fasteners. V

Curtains ofvarious kinds now in use have rings in spaced relation, sewed to their upper edgesfor slidable engagement with the ourtain;rod upon Which they are mounted; In traversing curtains, oordsare attached. to the upper edge portions of the curtains &I 1(1IGX- tend over pulleys topermit the easydrawing or traversing of a pair of'curtains on a rod. To remove the curtains forcleaning purposes, it is necessary to disconnect the cordsfrom the pulleys and the rings from the rods and after cleaning, the parts'have tobe replaced. This is very difficult for the average housewife and generally the SQPVlCBSiOf a professional man are required to take down or reg place the parts. Furthermore the rings sewed to the upper edges of the curtains are objectionable due to the fact that the rings become bent or otherwise damaged during the Washing operation.

Cords 12, extending over pulleys 13 are connected to the curtains in a manner to cause the curtains to traverse on the rod when the cords are pulled.

Traversing curtains or drapes now in ordinary use have the supporting rings sewed.

In the present invention, the mentioned objectionable features are eliminated and the curtains or drapes are suspended in a very simple manner so that they may be readily detached or hung without removingthe rings from the rod,-or disturbing the cords. To accomplish this result, the rings 11 having shank. portions 13 are preferably stamped fromsheet metal andthe shank portions 13 are given a one-quarter turn so that the lower eyed portions 14 will be in a plane at right angles to the plane of the ring portion 11. The said eyed portions are firmly mounted in spaced relation on a strip of tape 15 by means of the projecting head portions 16 of snap fastener members 17 A. complementary. strip of tape 18 adapted to be sewed to the upper edge portions of the curtains or other drapery by lines of. stitching 19, has.

A curtain fastener, comprising two elongated strips of material, complementary fastening members easily detachably connect ing the strips together at a plurality of points, and suspension members rigidly and directly connected to and forming part of the fastening members on one of the strips. p

' 2. A curtain fastener, comprising an elongated strip of material, snap fastener members connected to the strip in spaced relation and having projecting-head portions, 2

suspension members, having rigidly depending shank portions directly connected to the snap fastener members,.a second-elongated strip of material for attachment to drapery, and complementary snap, fastener members connected to the second strip of material in Y spaced relation for receiving the heads of the first-mentioned snap fastener members for detachably connectingthe two strips of material together beneath a supporting rod.

3. A curtain fastener,- comprising an elongated strip of material, snap fastener members connected tothe strip. in, spaced relation and having projecting head portions,

suspension members having eyed shank portions directly connected to'the snap fastener members, the head portions of which extend through the eyes of the shanks, a second elongated strip of material for attachment to drapery, and complementary snap fastener members connected to the second strip of material in spaced relation forreceiving the heads of the first-mentioned snap fastener members for detachably connecting the two strips of material together. I

4. A curtain fastener, comprising an elongated strip of material, snap fastener members connected tothe str1p.1n spaced relation and having projecting head portions,

ring suspension members having rigidly depending eyed shank portions directly connected to and extending at right angles to the snap fastener members, the head portions of Which extend through the eyes of the shanks, the plane'of the ring portion extending at right angles to the plane of the eyed shank portions, a second elongated piece of material for attachment to drapery, and complementary snap fastener members connected to the second strip of material in spaced relation for receiving the heads of the first mentioned snap fastener members for detachably; connecting the two strips of material together.
