The improvements relate toportable stoves and to stoves of this character which. are to be folded oritnoeked down forpacking, carrye ing or other transportation and -may be opened upandplaced in position by unskilled persons, and without the employment of tools of any description or the necessityfor malnng or breaking permanent connections. 1 The stove is intended to be used-with gasolene or other vaporburners, but certain features of the improvements may be employed with burners of other character. The stove provided by the improvements may also be used permanently iifi'desired, or in summen camps similar uses. g I

The outer edge of the cover is turned at substantially right angles thereto to form a flange 29 which houses the legs 27 when they are turned to a position at right angles to their open supporting position, and also overlaps the front of the body to make a comparatively tight closure when the cover is closed down.

A folding stove comprising a rigid rectangular body frame open at top and bottom, burner-s housed therein, legs hinged to the bottom end portions the body, removable bracesfor securing said legs in open position, said legs forming a closure on'one side of the body when closed, a table member hinged to the upper part of the body at one edge and forming a closure for one side of the body when in closed position, legs connected with said table member and movable to table 7 supporting and housed positions, a grid hinged to said body and adapted to be swung to position over the burners and to upright position, a folding shield hinged to the table composed of hinged portions foldable against each other and against the table, all ofsaid members being connected normally to forma unitary structure capableof being moved without becoming disconnected.
15. A folding stove comprising a rigid rectangular body frame open at its top and bottom, burners housed therein, legs hinged to the bottom end portions of the body, re-
movable braces for securing said legs in open position, said legs formlng a closure on one edge and forming a closure for one side of the body when in closed p sitlon, legs connected with said table member and movable to table supporting and housed positions, a grid hinged to said body and adapted to be swung to position over the burners and to upright position, folding shield hinged to the table composed of hinged portions foldable against each other and against the table, all of said members being connected normally to form a unitary structure capable of being moved without becoming'disconnecte'd, and said shield and grid being removable.

A folding stove comprising a rigid substantially rectangular body frame open at its top and bottom, means for supporting burners therein above said open bottom, legs hinged to the lower end portions of the body and a1 bottom said body and outwardly to open and support the same, the construction and arrangement being such that when the legs are in open supporting position there is an unobstructed opening through which any fuel drippings or matters spilled from cooking utensils may fall to the ground or other supporting surface without lodging in the said body to cause fouling of the same or combustionexterior to the burners.
