GAME ronon.
Application filed December 29, 1927. Serial No. 243,256.
The present invention relates to improved game pouch of the type adapted to be removably placed in a pocket, such as is ordinarily found on the back of a hunters coat, and the 5 purpose of the invention is to provide a bodily removable pouch, such as may be readily placed in'or removed from the open ended pocket in the coat, i i
. As is well known the ordinary hunters coat is provided with a pocket for the carryingof game. In carrying the game in the pocket however, the same becomes blood-soaked, and very untidy. Moreover it is very inconvenient to wash the pocket or the coat, and in V view ofthese objections, I have evolved and produced a novel pouch which can bev placed in the pocket for carrying the game in the pouch. v v
, My principal aim is to provide a simple and inexpensive .pouch which is constructed of blood and water-proof material, such as renders the pouch very efficient for the carrying of game and permits it to be removed for washing tomaintain it in a sanitary condition.
More specifically speaking, I propose the production of a removable pouch for insertion in a coat pocket, wherein this pouch is l ned with water-proof material, and wherein it 1s provided with entrance openings on opposite edges to be alined with the entrance openings of the pockets, whereby to facilitate insertion of the game. Another feature of the pouch, is that it is constructed to permit it to be temporarily fastened to the coat to prevent accidental displacement. 7
Other features will become apparent from the following description and-drawings.
In the drawings w Figure 1 is a view of a fragmentary portion of a hunters coat with the pocket on the back thereof containing the improved pouch. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the pocket and pouch. v
/ Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the same. Fig. 4 is a detail view of the pouch removed from the pocket.
Referring now to the drawings by nu- '50 merals, it will be seen that the coat is generally designated by the reference character 5, and, as is usual, it is provided on the'b'ack with an open ended pocket 6 in which the game is ordinarily placed. However, as before stated, the coat thus constructed, has
the present invention.
several disadvantages which are overcome by v In carryingout the present invention, anv
improved'pouch, generally designated by the reference oharacter f, isprovid'ed. r The pouch is composed of two plies of material fixed together, thus closingthe bottom edge as shown at 8 andclosing the top edge 9 Along the top edge we find snap f asteners or equivalent scparablefasteners 10 which Will cooperate with complemental fasteners inside of the coat pocket, thuspermitting the open to provide 'a mouth 12 on each' side.
These mouth portions aline with the entrances of the coat pocket, and aid in the placement of the game thru the pocket en'- trances andinto the pouch. H
The pouch is also provided with tabs 13 having button holes to connect with the usual buttons 14 fastened to the coat'in the manner. I
shown in 'Fig. 1.
This aids inthe maintenance of the pouch. However, the pouch can be readily removed, whenever desired or necessary to permit it to be washed, and to keep it in a sanitary condition. I A
- From the foregoing description and drawings, it will be seen that I have evolved and I produced an efficient game pouch capable of beingused in association with the pocket of a hunters coat, without requiring alterations of any of the existing details. It-adds to the practicability of the coat-and is supplemental,
thus permitting it to beused when desired,
and entirely removed when desired.
Thedevice is economical and characterized by an arrangement of details, which make it practical and eflicient for the purposes for which it has been designed. The description taken in connection with the drawings,
will permit a clear understanding of the invention to be had. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded unnecessary.
' rer l g pefligsd geaqend stitched along their remaining side edges up to a predetermined point, forming entrance mouths on opposite S1d6S, S&1d pouch being constructed of substantially Water-proof matel-NI, and being equipped "with. a3pereured tabs'and fastening means whereby it "may be separably connected with acoat.
r In testimony whereiefijl afiix my signature.
' I e JOHN WOODS RICH.
