The member 32 is formed from a piece of sheet metal, and at its center portion is adapted to fit over the socket kcasing rib portion 35, as at 40. An inturned edge portion 4l is provided about a central opening 42. The inturned edge portionr 4l rests upon the shoulder 3G formed by the ribV 35, and the casing portion 38 extends through the opening' 42. The member 32 is extended laterally from the rib fitting portion 40 as at Y 43 and is then turned rearwardly to form the flange 44. ln this instance, the member 32 is substantially circular in form and the portion 40 is a frustum of cone shape. The laterally eXtending portion 43 encircles the base ofthe portion 40, and the flange 44 is in the form Yof an annulus and provid s a rear- Wardly directed edge 45. The socket member 13 is clamped to the reflector 10, by means of the member and the use of bolts 4G which pass through openings in the laterally extending portion 43 'of the member A32, between the inturned edge 4l and the reflector material around the opening 17in the reflector. An especially t1ght clam-ping acti-on is provided, due to the edge 45 being iu contact with the reflector surface, the bolts being free to spring the material of the portion 43 toward Y the reflector, thereby causing a continuous clampingstrain 'to be placed upon the shoulder 36 by the portion 4l of the member '32.
The yportion 39 of the socket member l13 extends through the opening 17 of the reflector l0, and being thus disposed the electrical connections thereon would be exposed. To avoid this, a closure member 52 is provided for the opening 17. The closure member 52 is generally cup-shaped and has a laterally extending flanged edge 48 about the openinouthwthereof. In the instance illusi trated, this flange is interposed between the shoulder 37 of the socket casing and the reflector material about lthe opening 17 there- 1n, whereby it is clamped between the same when thesocket is clamped to the reflector bythe bolts 46. The cup shaped portion 49 of the closure member 52Vexten ds rearwardly through the opening 17 and is provided With an opening substantially in the center thereof into which an insulating bushing 5l is vplaced for the protection of the Wires 14 which pass therethrough.

In an electric heater of the type described, a reflector having an opening therethrough in substantially the center thereof, a heating element, a socket member for said heating element having an outer casing, said casing having a body portion adapted to extend through the opening of said reflector, and a rib encircling said body portion intermediate the ends thereof, said rib providing a pair of oppositely directed shoulders, a member encircling said casing and having a laterally extending part in engagement with one of said shoulders, and a laterally extending part overlying the surface of said reflector, a cover for the opening in said-reflector having a laterally extending part overlying the surface of said reflector and adapted to receive the casing body extending therethrough, and means to simultaneously secure said socket, said member and said cover to said reflector.

In an electric heater of the'type described, a concave reflector having an opening in the center thereof, a heating element, a heating element support including a rearwardly directed shoulder, a guard for said heating element including a member adapted to engage said support forward of said shoulder, to clamp said shoulder against the reflector portion surrounding the center opening therein, and means to secure said member to said reflector.

In an electric heater of the type scribed, a concave reflector having an opening in the center thereof, a heating element, a heating element support having a rearwardly directed end portion extending therefrom through the opening in said re- D flector, a cap for said support end portion extending through the salme opening and having a part engaging the reflector about the same opening, a part'of said support engaging said cap part, a guard for said heating element including a part adapted to engage said support, and means to secure said guardpart to said reflector loretain said support and cap thereto.
12.111 anl electric heater of the type described, a concave reflector having an opening in the center thereof, a heating element support having a rearwardly directed end portion extending therefrom through the opening in said reflector, a cap for said sup# port end portion extending through the same opening and having a part engaging the reflector about the same opening, a part of said support engaging said cap part, and means engaging said support to secure it and said cap to said reflector.
13. In an electric heater of the type described, a reflector, a heat-ing element, a support for said heating element, and a guard about said heating element, said guard including a member secured to said reflector, said member engaging said support to secure it and said guard to said reflector.

In an electric heater of the type described, a concave reflect-or having an opening in the center thereof, a heating element support having a rearwardly directed end portion extending therefrom and through the opening in said reflector, a cap for said support end portion having a part engaging the reflector about the same openiiig, and means to secure said support and said cap to said reflector, including a part in engagement With said support.

In an electric heater of the type described, a concave reflector having an opening in the center thereof, a heating element, a heating element support including a rear- -Wardly directed shoulder, a member adapted toengage said support forward of said a heating ele-l shoulder to clamp said shoulder against the reflector portion adjacent the opening therein, and means to secure said member to said `portion extending,` therefrom and through the opening in said reliector, a cap 'for said support end portion haring` a part engagingl the reflector about the same opening, and a guard tor said heating element including' a part adapted to engage said support, and means to secure said guard part 'to said reflector to retain said support and cap thereto.

In an electric heater of the t7 ie described, a concave reflector having an opening` adjacent the center thereof, aheating element extending` outwardly from said reflector, a socket engaging' the inner end of said heating element to support the same, means lo secure said socket to said reflector includino' an annular plate in engagement with said soeiiet, means to secure said plate to said reflector, a supporting ring,- spaced from and surrounding' said heating element intermediate the ends thereof, and wire-like members secured to said plate and `extendin` outwardly and over said supporting` ring and converging beyond the outer end of said heating element to form a guard therefor.
