J. S. STANLEY CLOSURE FOR RECEPTACLES Filed Nov. 18, 1925 I; I r W 50600141706 of the cap clears the end 27 of the neck when the cap is moved sidewise.
The frictional engagement of the parts will serve to retain the cap in the desired the end of the tube while Jressin the ivash,-'
er 1%, as shown in Fig. 4. In opening the container from this position, it is necessary lirst to turn the same circiunterentially thus,
as it were, initially unscrewing the same.
after which it can be pushed transversely across the neck to open the container, as above described, and the curved portion ot' the member will contact with the side of the neck to limit the extent of the travel of the cap in the open position.
I claim:
1. In a device of the character described, a receptacle having a neck portion with groove on opposite sides thereof, a cap having a member extending at an angleto the axis of said cap adapted to slide in said grooves longitudinally of said member.
2. In a device of the character described, a receptacle having a neck portion with a transverse groove on opposite sides thereotl,
a cap having a member extending at an an gle to the axis of saidneck portion adapted to slide longitudinally of said member in said grooves.
3. In a device oi the character described,
a receptacle having a neck portion with a groove on opposite sides thereof, a cap having a member extending at an angle to theaxis of said neck portion rigidly attached thereto said member being adapted to slide in said grooves longitudinally of saidmember. c
-l:. In a device of the character (lGSCIll'lQi'l, a receptacle having a neck portion with a thread on op 'iosite sides thereof, a cap having a member extending at an angle to the axis oi said neck portion adapted to slide in saidthreads longitudinally of said meiuber.
5. Ina device of the character described, a receptacle having a neck portion with a thread on opposite sides thereof, a caphaving a member extending at an angle to the axis of said neck portion adaptedto slide ,member, said member extending at an angle to the axis of said neck portion preventing said cap from becoming detached from said.
receptacle and tightening said cap on said receptacle.
8. In a device of the character described,
a cap having a member extending at an an to-the axis of said neck portion rigidly connected thereto, a receptacle having a neck portion provided with means whereby a'sliding motion of said member longitudinally of said member places said cap on and oil of the end of said neck portion.
9. In a device of the character described, a cap having a member extending substanti ally at right angles to the axis of said'cap and rigidly connected thereto, a receptacle having a neck portion, said cap and neck being providedwith means whereby said cap can be tightened on said neck portion by turning said cap..
10. In a device of the character described, a cap havinga member extending substantially at right angles to the axis of said cap and rigidly connected thereto, a recep and extending at an angle to its axis.
12. A bottle cap having a member rigidly attachedthereto on opposite sides thereof and extending at an angle to its anis, portionsof said member cross ng the lower edge of said cap.
13. A bottle cap having a ElHnhQl rigidly attached theretoon oppos te sides thereof and extending at an angle to its axis, said JDGllllOQl being adapted to guidesaid cap to open and closed position, and tighten said cap upon 'a receptacle.
