J. F. RAJAL TROUSERS HANGER Filed Sept. '7. 1926 [nvenfor Attorney Patented May 1, 1928.
UNITED STATES a'osnrn r. mun, or Loinsv'mm, maroon. 1

Application filed September The present invention relates to a device I for suspending trousers when not in use.
The object of the invention is'to provide a simple, inexpensive and eflicient device to clamp a pair of trousers at the lower leg portion thereof, so as to press and stretch those portions and also to furnish a means of suspension. The effect is produced of pressing the entire garment,- wrinkles and -ill shape resulting from wear are removed, and the normal form of the garment is preserved when not in use. Provision is further made for a compact and readily portable device.
With the above and numerous'otlier objects in view, as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in-certain novelties of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more fully described and 2 claimed.
In the drawing, Figure '1 is a perspective view of the hanger embodying the features of my in-.
vention,
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of one section of one of the inner sides, I
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the other section thereof.
Referring to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that the numeral 5 denotes a spring rod bent over upon itself and having its intermediate portion curved in the shape of a hook. The ends "of this rod are embedded in outside bars 6 which are, provided with felt or the like caps 7 at their inner spaces adjacent their ends. The letters A denote inside adjustable bars. Each bar A includes a section 8 having overhanging side flanges 9 and one end coiled as at 10. The numeral 11 includes a flat body having one end coiled as at 12 and provided with a U-shaped guide member 14. which is inverted and has one end merging into the section 11 so that the free end may extend over the corresponding section 11 of the other bar. The other inside bar has a similar guide 14. engaged on the section 8 thereof. Angular brackets 15 are attached to the bars A and provided with slots 16 through which the legs of the rod 5 project so as to hold the bars A assembled in relation to the bars 6. A slide keeper 18 has looped ends about the legs of the rod 5 so that the bars may be held tightly together. The bars A are adjustable'since the sections 11 are slidable in er 18 is slid downwardly to press the bars other for properly stretching the trousers.
, will be apparent that changes in t e details 7, 1926. Serial No. 134,048..
the flanges 9 of the sections 8. These inside bars A are placed inside the lower portions of the trousers and the bars 6 are en ged on the outer sides thereof and thenthe ee all towards each other, thereby securely holding the trousers. When the bars 8 are placed inside the trousers it will be seen that sections maybe adjusted in relation toeach It is thought that the construction, utility, and the advantages of the invention will now be apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof. The present embodiment of the invention has'been disclosed in detail since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated 'as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above descri tion. It
of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1.. A device of the class described, including a bracket rod, outside bars fixed to the extremities of the bracket rod, a pair of inside bars, and means for loosely mounting the inside bars on the bracket rod.
2. A device of the class described, including a bracket rod, outside bars fixed to the extremities of the bracket rod, a pair of inside bars, and means for loosely mounting the inside bars on thebracket rod, said inside bars having overhanging guide members to prevent the extremities thereof from being forced apart. 95
v 3. A device of the class described, including a bracket rod, outside bars Qfixed to the extremities of the bracket rod, a pair of inside bars, and means for loosely mounting the inside bars on the bracket rod, each in- 1 side bar including a pair of sections, one section having marginal overhanglng flanges for slidably receiving the other section, and the extremities of the inside bar being pro.- vided with coiled ends.
4. A device of the class described, including a bracket rod, outside bars fixed to the extremities of the bracket rod, a. pair of 1nside bars, and means for loosely mounting a the inside bars on the bracket rod, sai
"' .J' means including angular brackets fixed to said outside bars, means for loosely mount- Y the inside bars and having slots for receiving the inside'bars'on the bracket rod, and
ing the bracket rod. v I v means associated with the extremities of the m 5. A device-of the class described includinside barsto prevent said extremities from 5 ing a bracket rod, outside barsfixed to the being forced apart.
