chines of the counterpressure type in which the bottle .is filled under pressure, the gas supply to the bottle being cut off and the return gas port opened before the liquor is supplied thereto, and more particularly to such machines having a fixed disc with ports formed therein into which the gas and liquor supply tubes and the gas release tube from the bottle projectand having a disc with ports therein oscillating in contact with the fixed disc. 4 I
In one such arrangement two tubes are employed and the liquor port is carried through the spindle on which the disc is mounted thereby necessitating a leather packing or gland around the spindle which is particularly objectionable when beer or similar liquid is being filled into the bottle.
The present invention consists in the combination of a stationary disc provided with a centrally arranged stem and with ports terminating in its outer face and located at substantially the same distance from said stem, together with a second disc mounted to rotate on said stem in contact with the stationary disc and having grooves in its contacting face, which grooves, when the movable disc is partially rotated, bring the gas and liquor ports in turn in communication with the bottleto be filled and on further partial rotation of said latter disk opening the snift port and returning the valve to its initial position.
The invention will be fully described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 is a front elevation. Fig.2 is a side elevation partly in section.

A fixed disc A is formed with a series of ports a, a a a, a connected respectively to the gas supply inlet conduit 6, the liquor inlet conduit 6, gas delivery and outlet pipe 72 to the bottle, liquor delivery pipe 6 gas return conduit 72 and snift conduit 6 open to the atmosphere. The disc A also has in its face an arcuate groove a which has one of its ends connected to the gas delivery inlet and outlet port a to the bottle.

'i I The lower part of the revolving head is formed in the usual manner with a screwed cap D for receiving the lip of the bottle being filled. The liquor delivery pipe 71 from the liquor outlet port a of the stationary disc A is arranged to project below the cap D and into the bottle being filled. The gas delivery and outlet pipe 6 from the port a of the disc A is also arranged to project into the bottle.
The liquor conduit 6 to the liquor inlet port a of the disc A communicates with the liquor reservoir and the gas conduit 6 to the gas inlet port a communicateswith the gas cylinder, the return gas conduit 1) to the return gas port or also communicates with the gas inlet conduit 1), while the snift pipe 6 to the snift port a? of the disk A is in communicationwith the atmosphere with cam surfaces of varying lengths according to the travel required for opening or closin each of the ports of the disk A.
When a bottle is placed in position all the ports in the disk A are closed with the exception of the snift port A The disc C is then rotated by the arm C to put the 10 gas inlet port a in communication with the port a through the two groovesa and c (Fig. 1).
