OFFICE INDICATOR.

Application filed August 11, 1924 Serial No. 731,408.

This invention relates more particularly to an oflice indicator which will indicate precisely the day and hour at which a person is expected to return to his office or other place of business or dwelling.

It frequently happens that a person will be called away from his place of buslness for a long period of time, or he may be gomg on a vacation, or otherwise be absent from-oilice. It is especially for such lengthy and c2;- tended stays that'my present invention 1s adapted and designed to indicate the expected return of a person to his place of business.

The invention has for its object to provide an improved otfice indicator of the above described type, and it consists of the features of construction hereinafter set forth in detail and succinctly defined in the a pended'claims, reference being had to t e accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1- is a face view of an oflice indicator constructed in accordance with the present invention;

Figure 3 is a detailed sectional view of one of the indicator fingers.

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates the body of my improved oflice indicator,

which body may be, stamped from sheet metal or constructed from cardboard or other suitable material. It will also be noticed that the lower side or edge of the slot will be fric tionally embraced by the, opposed springy portions 10 whereby the individual ointers will be firmly held or secured in t eir set positions.

The hour indicator 11 consists of a hinged leaf detachably secured to the body below the slot 4 by a removable pintl'e. Each face of the leaf is provided with a dial 12 having numerals designating twelve hours and being .equipped with hour and minute hands 13.

One face of the leaf is noted AM and the opposite face is noted PM. The leaf is secured to one side, or the other, by a turn button 14:- When a person is to absent for a few hours only, he may withdraw the pintle 15 and simply place the hour indicator on his door or desk, as desired.

The body may be secured to the door or other support by suitable fasteners passing through corner apertures 16, or a suspending cord may be threaded throu h two or more of said apertures in an o vious manner. From'the foregoing it will be noted that the particular time a person is expected to return within a year may be announced on my improved indicator; that the arrangeinent is such that the reading may be clearly made; and that a small or auxiliary indicator may be rovided for hourly indications when'suc' alone aredesired.

What I claim as new is 1...An 'ofiice indicator comprising a body,

having a slot and indicia along one side of slotand consisting of a strip of metal having one end portion bent upon itself to provide a reinforced back and its opposite end ortion bent upon itself to provide a reinorced front and the free end of the latter portion being extended to form a pointer for cooperating with the indicia on the body, the reinforced front and back frictionally embracing the body therebetween.

An ottice indicator comprising a fiat body having date-indicating means including a row of indicia extending across the body, means movable over the'body for cooperating with the indicia of said row toindicate a predetermined day, said'date indicating means being arranged so as to leave a blank marginal space, an our leaf having relatively complemental time indications on its opposite faces, said leaf disposed in said marginal space and hingedly connected to the body for swinging substantially parallel with the row of indicia and'about an axis at right angles to the row of indicia to expose either of its two faces adjacent said row one side of said hour leaf having a clock dial denoting A. M. time-indications and the opposite side having a clock dial denoting P. M. time-indications, and a pair of hands for each dial movable thereover to indicate a predetermined time. i 3. An oflice indicator comprising a fiat body having slidable date-indicating means arranged so as to leave an hour space, an hour leaf hinged to the body for swinging in a plane substantially parallel to the direction of movement of said date-indicating means for exposing either face within the hour space, said hour leaf having a clock dial on one side denoting A. M. time-indicationsand a clock dial on the opposite side denoting P. M. timeii'idications, hands on the opposite sides of the leaf for movement over the respective dial for indicating a predetermined hour for the indicated day, said hands being connected by a common pivot, and fastening devices movably mounted on the body on opposite sides of the leaf and beyond the path of movement of the free edge of said leaf for its opposite faces,

having clock dials on its op osite faces, the dial on' one face denoting M. time-indications and the dial on its oppositeface denoting P. M. time-indications, said hour-indicating device being associated with said date-indicating device and adjustable to present either t me-indication face for reading in conjunction with said date-indicating device whereby the exact hour of a remote and predetermined day may be preindicated, means for positively holding said hour-indieating device in either of its adjustable p0si-' tions for exposing the corresponding time indication face thereof, and hands on the opposite sidesof the leaf for designating a predetermined time on the respective dial, the hand on the unexposed face being concealed and protected between the body and the leaf. v

5. An ofiice indicator comprising a fiat body having date-indicating means including a row of indicia extending across the body, means movable over the body for cooperating with the indicia of said row to indicate a pre-determined day, said date-indicating means being arranged; so as to leave a blank marginal space, an hour leaf having relatively complemental time indications on saidv leaf disposed in said marginal space and hingedly connected to the body for swinging substantiallyparallel with the row of indicia and about an axis at right angles to the row of indicia to selectively expose its two faces adjacent said row, one side of said hour leaf having A. M. timeindications and the opposite side having P. M. time-indications, and an indicator for each side movable thereover to indicate a predetermined time.
