Description

Feb. 7, 1928.
L. H. NICHOLS BELT Filed April 12. 1927 ATTORNEY Patented Feb. 7, 1928.
UNITED STATES LAWRENCE H. NEG HOLE, OF KENMORE, OHIO.
BELT.
Application filed April 12, 1927. Serial No. 183,159.
provide a belt of attrzu-tive and novel apearance and one which will be comfortable to wear, owing to its resiliency.
Another object of the invention to make the ends of the tubes flat so that they can be 10 readily attached to a buckle and also to provide means for fastening the tubes tog. ther.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the sore 'al parts, to be hereinafter tully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, re't erence will be had to the accompanying:
drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts tl'iroughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved belt.
Figure 2 is a rear view oi. the buckle and showing the ends of the belt attached the-re to.
Figure 3 is a section on line 3-8 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a section on line i t of ure 1.
As shown in these views, the belt is composed of a plurality of superimposed tubes 1 which are inflated and which have their ends flattened. as at 2, which not only tends to hold the air in the tubes but also prothe belt and a buckle on.
Vides means whereby one end oi the belt can be attached. to a buckle 8 and the other end to a hook-shaped member 4: which is detachably connected with the buckle so as to hold the bolt about the personot the user. The tubes are fastened together by bands which are placed at intervals along the length of the belt. 7
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a novel town of l is composed of a plurality of superimposeil tubes which are int ated so that the belt will have an attractive and odd appearance and one which. will give free movement to the body of the user owing to its resiliency.
It is thought from the foregoing dest tion that the advantages and novel features of my invention will. be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangen'icnt oi the several parts, provided that such changes tall within the scope of the appended claim.
lVhat I claim is:-
A belt oil? the class described comprising a plurality of resilient tubes placed one upon the other, the tubes being inflated and having their ends :llattened and turned over to retain the air in the tubes, a belt buckle connected with the flattened ends at one end oi? gring member connccted with the flattened ends at the other end of the belt, said member and buckle act- LAWRENCE H. NICHOL.
