MIRROR ATTACHMENT FOR TOTLET ARTICLES Application filed July 21,
' stick holders.
The principal b ect of my invention is to provide as an article of manufacture, a spring clip carrying a mirror, for attachmerit to. the cover of lip-stick cases already manufactured and in use and for sale and attachment to cases so as to be marketed as a composite whole. Such a device is of extreme utility in that the cap may be removed Avith one hand thus exposingthe lip-stick proper and the mirror thereon used While the lip-stick is being applied.
The invention contemplates a spring clip carrying a small convex bevelled mirror so as to catch a maximum vista. The clip itself is provided with a series of spring prongs so as to accommodate itself to lip-stick caps orcases of various sizes, yet to more or less 'rigidly grip said cap so that the clip and mirror will not be readily or accidentally displaced.
The invention further consists in the novel arrangement, combination and construction of parts more fully hereinafter described and shown in the drawings.
In the drawings Fig. 1 is a perspective view of one 0111-.
bodiment of my-device in' use.
Fig. asectional elevation. I
Fig. 3-is a plan view.
In the particular embodiment illustrated, I have indicated a lip-stick receptacle or 'case at 1 having a lip-stick 2-held therein in the usual manner. The ordinary case cap-is shown at 3 which telescopically engages the case body 1 to cover and protect the stickproper.
Asan example, my invention may be em [bodied in' a spring cap or clip comprising a cylindrical body portion 4 into one end oil which s spun, crlmped' or suitably secured a small convex bevelled mirror 5. The de- 1927. Serial No. 207,512.
pending skirt of the cap is provided with a ser es oi spring arms (3 flared outwardly at their ends as at 7.
Obviously, the inside diameter of the cap body is such as to accommodate any of a maximum number of diil'erent sized lip-stick caps-now on the market. An difference in size or looseness of fit may be readily taken up by deforming the spring arms, in or out as the circumstances require.
Itwill be clear that such an attachment has its chief value in that it is a readily detaehable device and may be transferred from one case to another as the contents become exhausted. The body of the device may be of anydesired material, either to match in quality the lip-stick case to which it is to be attached or to appeal to the aesthetic taste by contrast thereto. I
The device may be sold separately as an individual article of manufacture or attaclhed to a lip-stick case as a composite artic e.
The mirror 5 may be protected by backing 8 and a protective-disc 9.
- What I claim is:
1. In combination, a. lip-stick case comprising a body and a. cover, a cylindrical spring member carrying a mirror, spring clipped to said cover.
2. In combination, a lip-stick case comprisinga body and a cover, a cylindrical member overlying the cover, the skirt of the cylindrical member being provided with a series of spring arms in engagement with the cover, and a convex bevelled mirror car-. ried at the top of the cylindrical member.
,As an article oimanufacture, acap for toilet articles comprising a cylindrical body having spring arms depending therefrom;
and a mirror carried in the top of the cylindrical body.
