The device may be supported by a shell? indicated at 1 which shell may be provided with a beading; or edge 15 having a slot iudicated at 16. The device is shown provided with a flange 1'? extending downward- 1y from the web or apron 18. This web or apron is preferably a part of the body por tion and is shown as bent ru rwardly at an acute angle. The flange 1? is shown as extending vertically downward :lroui the rear most edge oi. the apron 18. The apron 18 is shown as arranged on the inclination noted for the purpose of con'l orrninnto the inclined upper edge 19 oil the bending ll"). The 'llanne 17 is shown as lilting iulo a groove 16 and supports the device in posilion. The weight o'l lhe device and card will tend to retain the flange 17 in place. The flange 17 is prelerably made in two or more sections separated by the substantially triangular space 20. In the case illustrated two such sections are shown with the space 20 intern'iediate thereof. The sections are flexible and resilient and are more easily bent than if they formed one continuous part. Moreover the individually moving sections may adapt themselves more easily to irregularities in the groove 16. Indeed. the flange 1'? may be made in any number of sections and the end ol the flange between lUU two adjoining sections may form substantially a point or tooth, which will give a better hold on the support.

Referring more particularly to Figures 4 and 5 the body part 21 is shown as formed at its lower edge with the shelf and retaining flange 22 but the lateral guides are left off except that on one side a small substantially triangular retaining clip 23 is shown as provided. This retaining clip is with advantage stamped from the sheet metal material and folded about to the position indicated. The apron 18 and flange 17 are the same as in the preceding form of the invention and as a consequence they have been similarly numbered. Thecard 24: in this case. however, is intended to slide horizontally into the holder and along the shelf 22 and the upper guides 25 and26 cooperate with the lower shelf 22 in admitting of this movement. The guides 25 are shown as of relatively short length they being cut from the material of the sheet metal adjoining the end portions of the apron 18. The metal is shown as bent outwardly and downwardly into substantially U shape providing channels cooperating with the shelf 22 below. The card is slid toward the left until it strikes and enters the clip 23. It is preferable that the card fit with slight friction in the device to avoid the possibility of its displacement, although the card should yield upon slight pressure.

Referring now to Figure 6 the sheet metal body 27 is shown as provided with a low-er supporting shelf and fiangeQS while at the side portions are two guide clips 29 and 30. The "card is intended to be slid down vertically within these clips until it rests upon the shelf 28. Additional metal along the sides of the device are saved over the first form of the construction and the clips will hold the card edges adequately for some uses. At the top of the device an opening 31 is shown as made. The half circle of the opening 31 from the apron 18 admits the finger downwardly behind the card and the half circle in the body portion admits the finger into contact with the card so that it may be lifted up. The opening 13 is also shown as provided in case it is desirable to initiate feed through the same.

Now referring to Figure 7 the device here comprises the body part 32 with the lower edge 33 and a single clip 34-. at one side. In addition there is shown an upper central clip 35 similar to the clip 34 and being, cut out from the metal in the apron 1S and folded downwardly. The card may he slid horizontally from the right toward the left into the lower edge 33 and clip until the same strikes the side clip 34. The card is then arrested in proper position and is held therein until active force is brought to bear in removing it.

If desired the side edges of the llangc '17 may extend inwardly at an angle.

Vhilc I have illustrated my invention in connection with price cards. devices embodying my ini ention may be used to display. for instance, photographs. and if desired glass or other transparent material may be held in the device in front of the card. photograph or other article displayed.

It is obvious that various changes and modifications may be made in the details of construction and design of the above pccifically described embodiment of this invention without departing from the spirit thereof.

WVhat is claimed is:

A card display device comprising an upright sheet metal body having an opening. a substantially Ushapcd flange bent outwardly and upwardly from the entire low-er edge of said body, an apron bent bachwm-dly from the entire upper edge portion of said body and having a downwardly turned. flange at its rear free edge a relatively small clip bent outwardly from one intcrmc diate side portion of the body part and having its tip end extending inwardly at substantially right angles to the body part and spaced guides cut from the uppcr corner portions of the body part below the uppcr Hi edge of the body part and folded oul\\'.-u'd| and downwardly to slidably receive a card laterally of the device.
