VMEQKAZVIGAIL nnrrtresns'rroxe application filer: annery re, 1932 serial lie. 1603M.
My invention relates to mechanical re trigemtion and particularly to means for supporting the expander of a mechanical refrigeration system in spaced relation to the wells of the retrigeratin compartment, and the principal object; of my invention is to provide new and improved ineunsot this type, in the drawings accompanying this specification and :l'ornting a part of this ap plication l have shown, for purposes of illustration, one form which my invention may assume, and-in these drawings:
Figure l is etragnientary elevation show ing n1y invention applied tea refrigerator cabinet hile FigureQ is section on the line 2-2 of Figure l.
The embodiment of my invention shown herein comprises a refrigerator cabinet 11 having a refrigerating compartment 12 accessible through a door opening is and conta ning an expander 13 supported in spaced relation to the Walls of the compartment 12. The support for the brine tank comprises pairs of harslfi and 16 attached at spaced points to opposite sides of the door opening; it andhaving their free ends convergingly projecting into the compartment 12 with the free ends of like members of each pair of bars connectedto a cradle menober 17.
The free ends of the bars 15 and 16 are provided with a series of spaced apertures 18 while the cradle nicnihers'li' have similar apertures 19 in their ends. By this arrange incnt connecting bolts 30 may be passed through selected pairs oif apertures 18 and 19 thereby adapting the support to compnrtnicnts 21nd expanders of diiterent size;
in assembling the support the bars ere first inovubly attached to the sides of the v different size, ror
door opening 14 by screws the compartment additional screws 15 and 16 in adjusted position From the above disclosure it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that I have provided new and improved means, adjustable to fit compartments and expanders supporting an expander in a compartment, of a refrigerator cabinet. will also be obvious to those skilied in the that the embodiment of my in'vem ment, comprising e j 20, or the like, and after the cradles 17 are adjusted to fit 21 areinserted thereby fixedly attaching the bars v cess bo said compertment,
porting an expander tion herein shown and described may he variousiy changed and modified Without departing from'the spirit of my invention or sacrificing the advantages thereof, and it therefore will he understood that the dis closure-herein is'illustrative only, and that 'my invention is not limited thereto;
I claim:
1. In a mechanical refrigerator. comprising a refrigerator cabinet provided with a compartment, with an opening afi'ording ac cess to ssid compa-rtment and with a door for closing said opening: means for supporting an expander within the compartmerit, comprising a lurality of cradles supporting said expsn er, and means connect ing each cradle to the cabinet adjacent opposits sides of said opening.
2. In a mechanical refrigerator, compris-- ing a refrigerator cabinet provided with a compartment; with an opening affording ac-.
cess to said compartment, and with a door for closing said openin means for sup porting an expander within the compartplurality of cradles sup porting said ex ander and bars connecting each cradle tot e cabinet adjacent opposite sides of'said opening.
3. In ameohenical refrigerator, comprising a refrigerator cabinet provided with a compartment, with an opening affording access to said compartment, and vvith it door for closing said openin z means for sup porting an expander merit, comprising a plurality of cradles supporting said. expander, and supporting means for connecting each cradle to the; opposite sides of sa d open;'
cabinet adjacent ing, and having said cradles and said. sup porting means formed for connecting to each other respectively at my one of-a plurality of points.
4. ins mechanical refrigerator, compris ingv a refrigerator cabinet provided with a coirrpttrtment, with an opemn affording; soan with a door for closing said opening Within ment, comprising a plurality of cr stdles supporting said expander, and h'avihg a plurailty otspaced apertures, airs of bars having one end attached to tv e walls of said opening and a pluraiit of spaced apertures at their free ends, an means-engaging se- Within the CQHIPHI'C- means'for su'pthe compart- 1 ieeted ones of the apertures in said cradles and said bars for attaching said cradles to said bars, selectively.
5. In a mechanical refrigerator, comprising a refrigerator cabinet provided with a con'ipartment, with an opening affording access to saidcompartment, and with a door fol-closing said opening: means for supporting an expander within the compart- 10 went, comprising a piura1ity of cradles sup- Lamaze porting said expander, and bars for con necting each cradle to the cabinet adjacent opposite sides of said opening, and having said cradles and said bars formed for c0nnection to each other at any one of a p1u rality of points respectively.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature.
CHARLES C. SPREEN.
