SANITARY NOODLE HAND PRESS.
Application meg August 42, 1926. serial No. 128,816
Th obj cts of the i ve t n a e to provid improved forms of c0n$truction for a san v ry hand n odl r s ha g he par ed lar advantages of simplicity in construction, and increased efiiciency and practica bility in use, and which can readily be I cleans d from a l. p ies,- a
The novel features )of the device include, a base or support forthe rollingand cutting e h n sm, hich is n u t n o e mia y P t us mate ly s mpl fyin t construction. a h base member is. P ded w th i g l sides having vertice e tt d epen ng the edgesof which act'as guides and hear.- ing surfaces, to secure the journalsof the in place, thus permitting these rollers to easily lifted out o th i hea ings to cleansed or repaired. L
It includes vertically slotted sideplates,
the slots in which form guide bearings for the roller journals, the said slots being pro;-
vided each with a vertical guide edge against which edges the said journals hear,
and from which they cannot depart, thus insuring perfect parallelism of the rollerjournals and preventinglthe knives on the up per roller form wearing irregularly against the lower roller.
It includes also adjustable hinged arms or clamping means, so constructed and arranged as to exert both a downward and forward pressure upon the journals of the upper roll or to which the knives are attached, in order to retain them in contact with the said vertical edges of the guide slots in the frame, and thus to preserve the parallel relation of the roller axes.
It includes a forked clamping frame constructed in one piece with the side arms,

actly parallel with each other, so thatthere will be no variation in the character of the product, and the disc cutters will remain sharp by reason of their vertical position. This is accomplished by means of the arms I, I,.pivoted at J, J, in the frame, and connected by the cross bar K.
These arms are provided with the hearing edges L, L, which are curved downwardly and extended diagonally at M, M, thus serving to force the journals downwardly,'to engage the knives against the roller beneath, and forwardly, to engage the journals with the vertical guide edges of the slots aforesaid, thus preventing the rollers from getting out of their vertical alignment with eachother. I
The pivoted arms are adjustably secured in position by means of a clamping screw N passing into the horizontal bar N that rigidly connects the sides of the frame, and a nut N. This nut engages with the slotted lug N on the cross bar K. 1 j
The rear edges of the slots H, H are prefof the roller journals therein.
, ters Patent is;
1. In a device of the characterdescribed, a frame composed of integral base and side members, said side members having a vertical V shaped slot therein, the front edges of said slots being vertical, a lower cylindrical roller and an upper roller provided with longitudinally spaced disc shaped knives thereon, journals for said rollers mounted in said vertical slots, and means on said frame for pressing the ournals of the upper roller downwardly and laterally against said vertical sides of said slots.
2. In a device of the character described,
a frame provided with a flat base and vertical sides, said sides having registering vertical V shaped slots therein, and said slots having vertical rear edges, upper and lower rollers journalled in said slots, and means for pressing the journals of said upper roller downward and laterally against the vertical sides of said slots.
3. In a device of the character described, a frame provided with a flat base and vertical sides, said sides having registering vertical V shaped slots therein, and said slots having vertical front edges and inclined rear edges, upper and lower rollers journalled in said slots, and adjustable means for pressing the journals of said upper rollers downwardly and laterally against the vertical sides of said slots. 7
4. In a device of the character described,
the combination with a frame having spaced vertical sides, said sides being provided with vertical bearing slots, each of said slots having a vertical front guide edge, of upper and lower rollers, said upper roller being provided with cutting knives, journals for said rollers mounted in said bearing slots, and arms pivoted 1n said frame and connected together across said frame, said arms being provided with downwardly extended bearing surfaces adapted to force said upper journals into engagement with said vertical guide edges, and to force said knives against said lowerroller.
5. In a device of the character described, the combination with a frame having spaced vertical sides, said sides being provided with vertical bearing slots, each of said slots hav ing a vertical front guide edge, of upper and lower rollers, said upper roller being provided with cutting knives, ournals for said frame mounted in said bearing slots and arms pivoted in said frame connected t0 gether across said frame, said arms being provided with downwardly extended bearing surfaces adapted to force said upper journals into engagement with said vertical A guide edges, and to force said knives against said lower roller, and means for adjusting the pressure upon, said arms. a i
