Inlayinga Wooden floor over a concrete floor, it has been common to lay parallel spaced Wooden sleepers upon the concrete surface and due to the fact' that the concrete fioor Was seldom level, the result was that there Were high spots insonne places and It has therefore been-necessaryv to. place shims'or Wedges beneath the sleepers with the result that when the Wooden floor was laid u on the sleepers and nailed thereto, the act o. hammering often caused the shims to become misplace'd., 'resulting' in a i springy l floor, and Wheretlrel door was :of considerable area., the samek often had Waves therein.
