This invention relates to electric bells and its primary object is to provide an electric bell wherein the ringing mechanism therefor is confined within the walls of the bell and base thereof respectively.
A further object is to provide an electric bell-which is very simple in construction, composed of few parts and which may be manufactured cost.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

Referring to the drawings in detail the reference numeral 1 indicates the base for. the bell 2 and extending from the flange 3 and secured upon diametrically opposite sides thereof is a substantially usshaped bell receiving bracket 4 having formed in its outer portion a threaded opening 5 to accommodate the screw bolt 6 which also passes through an opening formed in the bell for securing the same to the bracket in the manner as illustrated in Figure t'of the drawings. The contact breaker arm is indicated by the reference numeral 18 and has one end insulated from and secured to the flange 3 of the base through the instrumentality of a terminal nut and bolt connection 14, while the opposite end is bent downwardly upon itself and receives the thumb screw 15 which ture 8 so. that the core thereof will attract the armature for causing the operation thereof and which has formed integral therewith and cut therefrom as illustrated in Figure 7 thestrip 19 .which is arranged to engage the contact maker and breaker strip 16 for causing the same to cooperate with the screw bolt 15 to provide the intermittent operation of the armature with the result that the hammer thereof will strike the bell accordingly. 7
The electrom'agnet is supported by a link 19 which provides the ground connection therefor and which is secured to the flange 'Elby the terminal 20 as clearly shown in Figure 3 of the drawings. The terminals 14 and 20 are provided with the usual binding nuts for attaching the positive and negative conduitsfroin a suitable source of electric energy not shown.
The base 1 has detachably associated therewith a plate 21 which is formed with a key hole shaped slot 22 so that the bell can be adequately supported from a nail or similar means 23 in the manner as best illustrated in Figure 4. V
