...Application meu January 3, les?. Sriaino. isavfizf Theinvention relates toy an operating table and more especially to the class of veterinary surgical or operating tables for animals.

The primary object of the invention is thel provision of a tableV of this character, wherein the body thereof is ofqnovel form so that the animalV can be conveniently clamped or held iii the desired `position rfor operating purposes, especially for vaccination, the table being of novel form, so that when an animal is placed thereon it will be firml held without anv ossibilit u of such animal working loose. Y

Another object of the invention is thepro# vision of a table of this character, wherein the fastening elements for holding theanimalv are mounted in anovel'manner so that i they can be adjusted to suit the fancy of the drawings, showing the preferred einbodi-kY user of the table and to firmly hold the animal when upon the table.

`A further object of the invention is the provision of a table of this character, wherein the same is readily portable and, can be folded or-lrnocked downwhen not in use, so as to occupy the least possible space and when set up lfor use will be firm. p

A still further object of the invention is the provision o f a table of this character which is comparatively simple in construction, thoroughly reliable andefcient in its purposes, strong, durable, susceptible of wide range of, adjustment and inexpensive to manufacture andinstall.

With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, aswill be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying ments of the invention,kand pointed out in the claims hereunto appended. i

Removably fitted in the bed A at the co`rners thereof'are upwardly divergenty stanchions `or posts 1l, which serve as guardsv for the ends of the table, each stanchion or" post ll being removably fitted in an opening 12 fermedin the bed A of the table.

Slidably engaged with these yokes 'l5 are the inner ring ends 16 of retaining straps or members 17 having outer chain terminals 18, a selective `link of each being designed` for detachable fastening with a pivotally mounted levenlilre latch ll).

The bed A carries at one longitudinal edge a pair of lever-lil e latches 2U, while at the opposite longitrulinal edge is a series of the lever-like latches lt). Mounted on the stanchions or posts ll are lever-like latches 2l with which are detachably `engaged retaining elements 22, these carrying hook terminals, and being adapted to hold and secure the legs of an animal when placed upon the table for operating purposes.

ln the use of the table when set up, the body of `theanimal placed upon the bed A, to rest upon the slats 13, and thereupon, the retaining members 'li' are chained over the body of the animal and secured in their adusted position by the latches lt), while the legs of the animal are fastened by the re taining elements 22 as will be clearly obvions.

From the foregoing it is thought that the construction and manner of use of the table will be clearly understood and therefore a more extended explanation has been omitted.

A table for the purpose set forth coinprising a bed, legs for supporting it, an abutment at one side of the upper face of the bed, a plnralityof spaced displaceable and adjustable animal retaining members slidably connected to the upper face of the bed, and `means extended from said side of the bed for detachably seciu'ing said retaining members in anin'ial retaining position.

A table of the character described oomprising a bed, supporting means therefor, spaced transversely extending slats secured to the upper face of the bed, a plurality of spaced displaceable and adjustable retaining members slidably connected with the bed between said slats, an abutment at one side of the bed` adjacent one end of said slats, and means `extended romsaid side of the ed for detachably securing said retaining members in animal retaining position.

A table for the purpose set forth comprising a bed, legs for supporting it, an abutment at one side of the upper face of the bed, a plurality of spaced displaceable and adjustable animal retaining members e-:iidabiy connertedto the upper face of the bod, means extended from said side of the bed for detachably securing said retaining members in animal retaining position, an outwardly inclined, upstanding stanchion mounted at each corner of the bed and adjacent said slats, and means carried by each of said stanehious for detachably connecting the leg of an animal therewith.
