That is to say, it is an object of theinvention-to provide a unitary casing structure including the full width of the casing and the two adjacent corners.
Inasmuch as the features of the invention are particularly well adapted for window sills and the like, I have illustrated and will particularly describe these features as embodied in a window sill construction. In so doing, however, I wish to make it clear that I do not intend thereby to limit the features of the invention to this particular or any other particular class of'use, since it will be evident that the features of the invention may be used advantageously for other purposes. .In the drawing:

Ordinarily, the window sill will be provlded with a series of perforations 17 adjacent to the upper edge of the flange 12, so that the plaster 9 may be forced through these perforations and thus secure, the lower edge of the vwindow sill very firmly with respect to the plaster itself. The ends 18 and 19 of the window sillare curved around, at right angles as clearly shown'in Fig. 1, and vtlieextreme end por tions of the metal strip. are inset a'sshown at 20 and 21 to establish fitting flanges which are shouldered back from the main body of the window sill to establish the- shoulders 22 and 23. These shoulders are of the same depth as the thickness of the metal 24: which is used for the side portions of the casing structure, so that when the sides of the casing are set into place with respect to the window sill a perfectly *flush' and finished condition may be provided at the junction as shown in Fig. 2 at the point- 25. v
The above construction also establishes a very firm connection between the window sill itself and the lower portions of the sides of the window casing I I 1 I wish to emphasize the fact that while I have herein illustratedand "described the invention as embodied within a window sill, still the invention'may also be used .to advantage in the construction of the other portions of the window casing, in the construction of the top portions of door casings, and in any other similar locations. i
Therefore, while I have herein shown and U i described only a single embodiment of the features of my present invention, stillI do not limit myself to the same except as I may do so in the claims. Y
I claim: g
1. As a new article of manufacture, a casing strip for the casing of a door or window comprising an integrally formed strip of metal having a longitudinally extending bend to afford a sill flange and a facing flange at approximately right angles to one another, said strip having one of its ends extended in right angled relation to the intermediate portion of said strip and similarly rovided with a longitudinally extending end affording sill and facing extensions merging unbrokenly into the sill and facing flanges of the intermediate portion of the istrip, and the terminal portions of said exbring the offset end portion of said extension i into nnderlapped relation to the end of said side strip, substantially as described.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a casing strip for the casing of a door or window comprising an integrally formed strip of metal having a longitudinally extending bend to afford a sill flange and a facing flange at approximately right angles to one another, said strip having one of its ends extended in right angles to said strip and similarly provided with a longitudinally extending bend affording sill and facing extensions merging unbrokenly into the sill and facing flanges of the strip, and the terminal portions of said extension. being inwardly offset to afford a shoulder at a point behind the extreme end thereof, in combination with a side strip longitudinally bent to conform v to-the configuration of the end extension and abut against the shoulder thereof to bring the outer face of said side strip into flush relation with the face of said extension and to bring the oifset end portion'of said extension into underlapped relation to the end of said side strip, substantially as described.
