IMPROVEMENT IN NIOLDING-NIACHINES.
Speciiicaton forming part of Letters Patent No. 164,650, dated June 22, 1875; application filed May 7,1872.
To all vwhom Iit may concern Be it known that I, JosEPH R. LocKE, of Amesbury, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain Improvements in Molding-Machines, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists in the arrangement of circular adjustable rests around the circular plates or cutters.

In the several drawings similar letters refer to similar parts.
A is the frame of the machine; B, the driving-pulley on shaft O. D D are the circular revolving pla-tes, securedto shaft O. E E are the parallel grooves in plates D, in which are secured cutter-rests FF, by means of bolts G G. H H are the cutters, adjusted on and secured to cutter-rests F F by means of screws I I. M M are the circular adjustable rests, surrounding the circular revolving` plates D D. N N the thumb-screws to the rests M M, by means of which they are adjusted and secured in slot O in cross-bar of frame A.
When it is required to sharpen or alter the form of cutters H H they can be removed from cutter-rests F F by removing screws I I, and any form given to cutters H H will be reproduced on a piece of wood firmly held over them on circular rests M M. The amount of surface of the wood exposed to cutters H H can be regulated by the adjustable rests M M. Two or more rounders maybe attached to the same shaft with cutters of different form, thus producing a variety of Work from the same machine.
I claim as my invention- The circular adjustable rests M M, operated in slot O by means of thumb-screws N N, substantially as described.
