UNITED STATES PATENT QFFIcEQ ISAAC L. MERRELL, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN PAINT COMPOUNDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 164,469, dated June 15,1875; application filed August 7, 1874.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ISAAC L. MERRELL, of San Francisco city and county, State of California, have invented an Improvement in Paint Compounds; and I do hereby declare the following description suflicient to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which it most nearly appertains to make and v use my said invention or improvement without further invention or experiment.
My invention consists in an improved paint compound having good qualities for endurance, and being to some extent fire-proof.
The mixture which I use is composed of the following ingredients, and in about the proportions named: Steatite, finely pulverized, four (4) pounds; slaked lime, dry, one (1) pound; dry lead, one (1) pound; naphtha varnish, one (1) ISAAC L. M ERRE LL.
