This invention relates to an improved con-V struction of bracelet-or chain formed of a plurality of units flexibly Connected tO- gether, each unit comprisinga box link and a slide link movable relative thereto; and the object of this invention is to provide a detachable connectionbetween the slide link of one unit and the boX link of the next unit by means of a pin which may be removed from operating position after a rotation relative to one of the links which it connects.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a connecting pin having a head at one end to engage one wall of oneof the links and threaded at the other end to threadingly engage the opposite wall of the link, the pin being detachable by rotation relative to the link and accessible atone of its ends for such' rotation.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, as will be morefully described, and particularlypointed out in the appended claims.

It is found in the practical construct-ion and operation of bracelets of the type formed of a plurality of eXtendible units flexibly connected together, desirable to so connect the units that they may be detached one from the other by slight manipulation without the use of special tools; andin order to accomplish this in a simple and practical way, I .have mounted a pinhaving a head to engage vone of the vwalls of thel boxl link and at the same time vextend through pierced openings inthe walls of the slidelink of the adjacent unit to connect the slide link and the boXjlink so that they may be detached by simply unrotating the 'pin at oneof its endsgfand thefollowing is a detailed description ofthepresent embodiment of this invention and vshowing one means by which these advantageous results may be accomplished.v i c E VWith reference to the drawings, l() designates the box link lhaving a top wall 11 folded to provide sidewalls 12, and bottom wall 13. which is threaded' 'as'at 25 to engage with the internal threads 26 in the opening inthe ear 21, the pin being removable by means of a screw driver or the like engaging the slot 27 in the head. The pin 24 extends through pierced openings 28 in the ears 29 of the slide link of the adjacent unit which may be easily detached from the boX link 12 to which it is connected by removing the pin as above described. In some instances it is found desirable to thicken the wall having the threaded opening as illustrated at 29 in Figures 6 and 7 this being accom` plished by utilizing the burr of the stock in piercing the opening or by suitably striking the stock so as to draw the stock to the position to receive additional threads in the pierced opening to assist in holding the threaded pin in position. The symmetrical appearance of the units is preserved by raising corresponding projections on the outer `Surface of the opposite wall of the boX link, as illustrated in Figures 6 and 7 which also provides a greater bearing for the 'end of the pin.
In certain cases where it is undesirable to raise projections on the outer surface of a unit aneffective thickening of the walls may be provided by turning inward the stock of the end wall as illustrated at 30, in Figure 8, which serves to increase the bearing for the pin which also may be provided with. addltonal'thmds for accomplishing a more secure holding of the pin in position. The threaded portion 25 at the end of the pin 24 is reduced from the adjacent portion of the pinto form a shoulder 32 tofengage the inner surface of the wall of the outer box link to prevent the walls being unduly drawn together.
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided an extremel simple means Vbetween the slide link and t e box link of the next adjacent unit to detachably connect similar units together which may be easily detached one from the other for regubiting the eective working length of the bracelet.
The foregoing description is directed solelly towards the construction illustrated, but
desire it to be understood that I reserve the privilege of resorting to all the mechanical changes to which the device isr susceptible, the invention being defned'and limited only by the terms of the appended claims.
I claim:
V1` An extensible chain structure comprisin a series of yu1.1its,e ach comprising a'box li and a slide link therein, and means for detachabl connecting the slide link of one f unit to t e box link of the next unit inprovided with means whereby it is interlocked with the box link by rotary movement. A.
2. An extensiblechain structure comprising a series of units, each comprisinga box link and a slide link therein, means for detachably connecting the slide link of one unit to the box link of the next unit including a pin having threaded engagement with one ofthe links, and means for limiting its endways movement.
3. An exliendible chain structure comprising a series of units, each comprising a box link and a slide link thereinlhaving correspending side walls, a pin having a head engaging' one of the' side Walls vand in threaded engagement with the other side walls ot the box link and extending through the side walls of the slide links to pivot and connect the links together, said pin being removable by manual manipulation of said head.
