Description

Sept. 6, 1527.
G. T. SWASEY PENHOLDER Filed Feb. l7, 1.926
yaw M Patented Sept. 6,1927.
UNITED STATES GEORGE TRUMAN SWASEY, OF RAYMOND, WASHINGTON.
PENHOLDER.
Application filed February 17, 1926. Serial No. 89,073.
The present invention relates to improve men-ts in the pen holding features of fountain pens and aims to provide a structure which is simple, easy to assemble and disassemble, thoroughly efficient and reliable in use, and otherwise well adapted for the purpose for which it is designed.
With the above and numerous other objects in view, as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawing:
The figure is a fragmentary longitudinal section through a fountain pen, showing my improved structure.
Referring to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that an ordinary pen point is denoted by the numeral 3 and is disposed about the feeder 1. This feeder 1 is partially enclosed in a flexible rubber hollow plug 5, which is formed with a flexible tube extension 5. This flexible tube extension 5 is formed integrally with the plug 5 and is disposed co-axially therewith and has an exterior diameter smaller than the exterior diameter of the plug. The rubber plug is carried in the end of the casing 6, being held in place by the wedge ring 4, which is secured of construction may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit or scope of the in vention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
. In combination with a fountain pen;
wherein the fountain pen includes a casing, 7
a well member, and a feeder; a rubber hol low plug in the open end of the casing, means for holding the plug in place, a flexible tube extending integrally from the inner end of the plug coaxially therewith and having an exterior diameter smaller than the exterior diameter of the plug, said well member receiving at its open end the flexible tube, the feeder extending into the hollow plug for the purpose of holding a pen point between the hollow plug and the feeder.
