A further ject is to provide a case of the Character described which not only will display in a pleasing manner the goods to be sold but will allow convenient, access thereto for dispensing purposes. A furtherobject is to provide a case which will be clean and sanitary and easily accessible in allparts for cleansing purposes.

The invention consists generally in various constructions and combinations all as and particularly Figure 1 is a'perspective view of a show-- case embodying my invention; Figure 2.is a vertical sectional view of same;

A floor 19 is rovided in the case, the rear portion of whic is-adjacent an inclined surface 20 of the rail 7 and a series of vertical 5 v partitions 21, preferably of transparent ma 'terial such as glass, fit within vertical grooves 22 in the rear rails 7 of the case and into transverse grooves 22 in the front rail face close to the upper ends of these partitions forming close-fitting jointsthcrewith, endwise movement of the top plate bein prevented by means of the strips 23 mounted on the under side thereof and arranged to contact with-the end walls or plates of the case.

Within the compartments so provided, and there may be any desired number of them according to the length -ofthe case and the desired capacity, I provide a series of, inclined plates 24 also preferably of transparent material such as glass having theirlower ends resting .upon the ,rail '6 and their upper ends uponjthe rail 10 adjacent the lower edge of the plate 12; the inclination of these plates being preferably at an angle of about 45 degrees so that a: triangular space is forme between each late and the front wall of the case wherein t e shelled nuts, candy, or other articles may be attractively displayed.

'At the lower ends of the plates 24, the corners are cut' away, providing gaps or openings 25 on each side communicating with the chambers or spaces 26 and throng these openings the nuts or other material in' the case will fall by gravity, as indicated in Figure 2, to a point where'they may be conveniently reached by the clerk for sacking l0 or-dispensing purposes. The plates 24 are removable-as well as the partitions separating the compartments so that it is a simple matter to remove them and thor oughly cleanse the interior of the case'.

Means'are also preferably provided. for locking down the front edge of the top plate 15 in order to prevent an unauthorized per son from raising the plateand reach' into the case. Such means preferably con 11 sists in the, provision of suitable hooks 28 secured to the strips 23 or the plate 15 and adapted to en age the lower edges of the angle braces when the plate is closed, as shown in Figures 1 and t. If desired, a means may also be provided for locking down the rear edge at the plate.

In makinga sale, it is not necessary to open the top of the case and permit the entrance of air and dust or dirt into the cabinet, but by lowering the door at the rear, the lower interior will. be exposed and the nuts or other material will be visible therein within convenient access of the salesman. The chambers 26 also provide a space in which a supply of-sacks filled with the nuts or other material may be kept and preserved fromthe air and protected from the dust, Those plates 24 at the ends of the cabinet referably will have notches 27 therein to t itlthe upright standards or posts at the rear of the case. The case may be made in various sizes and when the nuts, candy, or-

other articles are deposited therein, the material will be exposed to view on all sides and may be carefully examined in detail by a prospective purchaser.

I claim as my invention: I

1. A show-case com )rising a base, upright transparent side an end walls mounted thereon, corner. braces fitting the angle of the side and end walls for securing them together, a cover or top plate resting upon said walls, depending hooks supported by the forward under portion of said cover, each having a horizontal foot adapted to slide under the lower edge of a corner brace 'to prevent the forwardportionof said cover if am being lifted, but adapting the rear side of said cover to be raised and moved horizontally to disengage said feet from said braces.

4. A show-case comprising a base and transparent vertical walls, an inclined plate having an opening in the lower end thereof, said plate positioned in the case to divide the same into an up er chamber and a lower chamber, said plate being loosely supported and having its lower end abutting the front wall and base portion and having its upper end resting againstthe rear wall.
