In a remote control latch, the combination of a latching unit provided with a sliding bolt, an actuator unit comprising an actuator plate a vertical rotary spindle journaled thereon and a lever pivoted thereon, and a draft men'iber for connecting the lever to the sliding bolt whereby motion imparted to'said lever is reversed and translated into a rectilinear motion otl the sliding bolt, said draft connection provided with means which permits a quickly detachable and lost motion connection between the draft member, lever and latching unit.
8. ln a remote control latch for automobile bodies, the combination ot a latching unit, an actuator unit, positioned remote from said latching unit, said actuator unit including a vert-ical spindle actuator and a lever pivoted to the actuator plate, and a draft connection between said pivoted lever and the bolt of said remote latch unit Wl1ereby the rotary motion of the vertical spindle will be reversed and translated into a rectilinear motion for retracting the bolt.
