An ironing board comprising a top, end legs, and braces therefor having pivotal con. nections with eachmother and with said top a center legopivotally connected near' one emi with said p, tension means lower portion Aof said center end vlegs between inglongitudinal stress to said tension means and center leg, and a yielding device interposed between the end of said center leg and the i'inder surface of said top and put under connecting the leg with said brace bars pivotally interposed said end legs and said top for applytension b the placing ofsaid brace hars in their wor ing position to take up lost motion in the vpivotal connections of said legs and braces.
