Description

H. MEYER May 31, 1927.
- sou Filed April 14. 1926 1- means, or meanness.
Application filed A ril 1a, was, Serial No.
With this object in view my invention 0011- 4 sists' in securing rigid bodies preferably made from veneer or other light and strong material to the ends ofthe pneumatic ring,
the said bodies being in the form of the bow or stern of the boat. In the preferred construction the said bodies are providedwith means for securing a keel thereto.
For the purpose of explaining the invention an example embodying the same has Y been shown in the accompanying drawing, in which the samereference characters have been used in all the views to'indicate corre sponding parts. In said drawing,
,Fig. 1, is an elevation of the boat,
Fig. 2, is a top-plan view, Fig. 3, is a bottom view, Fig. 4 is an end View, and
Fig. 5, is a section taken on the line 5-5 of Fig. 1. 'In the example shown in the drawing the hull of the boat comprises an elongated pneumatic annular tube 1 provided with a valve 2 for expanding the same b means of compressed air. 2 The length of t e annular tube is nearly equal to the length of the hull audits breadth is equal to thebreadth oi the hull. The bottom 3 of the boat consists of a late of rubber, canvas, raw hide, or the liBe, lued or otherwise secured to the bottom 0t the pneumatic tube, and an inner lining 4 preferably made from boards or slats of wood-arrangedin the manner of a certain rigidity to the bottom.

" or otherwise secured, which stern and bow arein the form of tapering hollow bodies made from veneer or similar li ht and strong material. By thus providing the hull with a sternand a bow the resistance of the water is reduced, and the hull is braced. I
I claim:
and expansible annular tube and'bow and stem members, each open at the inner end and tapering toward the outer end, the ends pf the said inflatable tubes being arranged in the open inner ends of said .bow and stern members and secured thereto.
- 2. A boat hull comprising an inflatable and expansible annular tube and bow and 'stem members, each{ open at the inner end.
and tapering'towardg the outer end, the. ends of the said inflatable tube being arranged 1n the open inner ends of'said bow and stern members and secured thereto, said hull also comprising a bottom of said expansible tube.
3. A boat hull comprising an inflatable and expansible annular tube and bow and stern members, each open at the innerend' and tapering toward the outer end, the'ends of the said inflatable tube being arrangedin the open inner ends ofsaid bow and stern members and secured thereto, said hull also comprising abottom secured to the bottom of said exgansible tube, and an inner-lining on sai bottom and arran ed between this) opposing inner sides of said inflatable tu e. T
X In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature.
HERMANN MEYER.
