In a kerosene or coal oil burner, the combination of a gas manifold having gas radiants, means for regulating the flow of gas to the radiants, a valve controlled generator in communication with the gas manifold, said generator including a tubular casing, a cylinder of smaller diameter than the casing and terminatuig in a needle valve, a chamber having a passage in which the needle valve seats, said passage opening into the manifold leading to the gas radifants, means for supplying coil oil under 4 pressure to the generator, a Bunsen burner arranged in proximity to the generator and positioned under and at one side of said generator and a valve controlled pipe connection between the Bunsen generator.
