This invention relates to a trouser stretcher. p
The objectof the invention is the production of a trouser stretcher; which can be easily inserted in each leg oi a pair of trousers. and maintained therein when the trousers are not in use. The second object of the invention is the production: of a trousers stretcher which can be easily removed from the leg of a pair of trousers. The third object of the invention is the production of a trouser stretcher which is very simple in construction and cheap in cost. The fourth objectof the invention is the production of a. device which will autoiiiatically and continuously maintain the leg of a pair of trousers in tension to stretch the same and obliterate any wrinkles therein.
In the accompanying drawings Fig. 1 represents a side view of a pair of trousers with an exemplification of the trouser stretcher inserted in the legs thereoit'; Fig. 2 shows a right hand ,side view of Fig. 1; Fi 3 indicates a section of Fig. 2 on the O l a broken line 5, 5; Fig. l represents a side elevation otthe trouser stretcher when not in use and Fig. 5 is an enlarged section ot Fig. 2 on the line 5, 5. M
The trouser stretcher in this instance 1s indicated to comprise a pair of flexible .op
positioned bows, preferably of one piece of wire. Each bow consists of the normally curved flexible crown member 20, which joins with the flexible top and bottom members 21 and 22. Inclined straight and flexible connecting members 25 cross each other and join the pairs of the members 2i and 22. It will be noted that each of the inclined straight and flexible connecting membore 25 extends iroin the top member 21 oi": one bow to the bottom member 22. of the other bow. A ring 26 is slidably supported on the inclined members 25 where they'cross each other. The legs of the trousers are indicated at 30.
positely To insert the trouser stretcher in the leg of a pair of trousers or other tubular object to be stretched, the user bears on the curved crown members 20, to force them toward each other.
The stretcher is then inserted in each leg position shown v best object in which the stretcher by simply grasping the members of a pair of the trousers where it will assume the in Fig. 3, the crown members 20 bearing against the creases of the trousers. The members 20 are maintained in straight lines by the resistance of the legs of the trousers, or other tubular is inserted. and the connecting m'eiiibers 25 will each assume the form of a double curve as indicated in said Fig. 3. I
Each stretcher is easily removed IEIOIliltS leg of the trouser or other tubular object, 21- to pull the stretcher from the trousers or said object. v f
By means of the ring 26 the members 25 can be located in different operative positions, with different positions of the flexible crown members-20, when the latter are 10- cated in diii'erent positions.
Various modifications may be made in the invention and the'present exemplilication is to be taken as illustrative aiid'not limitative thereof. I
desire to secure by Letters Patent and claim is: r
1. In a trouser stretcher the combination of a pair of flexible bows, each bow comprising a flexible crown member, flexible top and bottom members extending from the opposite ends of each crown member, and inclined straight. connecting members connecting the top member of one how and the bottom member of the other how.
2. In a trouser stretcher the coii'ibination oi flexible bows. adapted to be inserted in the leg of a pairol trousers,
top and bottom members extending from the opposite ends of each crown member, a pair of inclined straight flexible members, the said inclined flexible members connecting the top member o'i one bow at one end there of and the bottom ii'ien'iber ot the other bow at tl e opposite end thereof and a ring slid'ably connecting the inclined straight flexible members to support the latter in various positions" thereof.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature. I ROBERT FREY. v
I each bow com irisin a flexible crown member
