I have illustrated a common 4form of mechanism for advancing the 'sheet on the feed table, this mechanism comprising a series of feed rollers 23, suitably journalled on the frame 20,w1th their aXes'in the same plane and arranged diagonally with respect to the longitudinal axis ofthe feed table or direc- I tion in which the sheet is advanced. This diagonal arrangement of the'feed rollers -23 has the`eti'ect of movingthe sheet toward the lower side of Fig. 1,- as Iwell' as .longitudinall'y of the table, the lateral movement of .thedsheet being for the purpose of properly laligning i t and presenting it to the'proper positionin the folding mechanism or pr1nt- 'ing press. The rollers 23 are driven by means of an endless belt-24`which frictionally-enga s withl the'rollers and 'is supportedby pu eys 25 and 26,'4 the latterbeing -a ,driving pulley and -being ,mounted on a shaft 27 which is driven. in any `suitable manner, as by means of the gir of gears 28,

shaft 32'carries the take-ofi' roller 22 and a driving'pulley 34 on which runs a driving belt 35 which exte ds to'an of power. The t e-off rol er 22 is mounted on ashaft 36 vwhich is drivenv from the shaft 32 by the pair of spur gears 37, the shaft 36 bemg supported at its opposite ends in bearings 38 and 39.

As before stated, it is an' object of this invention to overcome this diliiculty and this is accomplished by roviding amovable side uide vsuch as the elt 41. In the specific orm of the invention illustrated, this movable' side guiding mechanism comprises a grooved baror frame 42 in which one side ofthe belt 41 is arranged. The, bar 42 is supported on -a pair of brackets 43 and 44 l49, this rod being-adjustably supported in the frame 2O and secured by a set screw 50 (see Fig. 6). The screws 47 are held against longitudinal movement in the arm 48 by means of the head 51 and the collar 52, which are arranged on opposite sides of the arm 48. As will be evident from 6, the bar chine on which there is rotatably mountedV an 42 may be'adjusted laterally ofthe machine by turning-the screws 47 andeither end of the bar may be adjusted independently of the other,within certain limits.
A bracket 53 is secured on the bar 42 by :means of the bolts 54 and carries an idler pplley 59. A- bracket 55 is secured on the aring 39 or other '.fixed part of the may bolts' 56- and carries a stub shaft 57 .on which 4there is rotatably mounted a pulley 58 which is formed with a bevel'gear 58' at its lower end, this gear meshing with and being driven by av bevel gear 58 on the shaft 36.` A bracket 60 is secured to the bar 42, adjacent the bracket 53, and carries an idler pulley 61. At the opposite end of the bar .42 a bracket 62 is secured thereon l by means of the bolts 63, this bracket having a slot 64 in its end in which a block 65 slides, this block carrying a stub shaft 66 idler pulley 67. The bracket 62 also carries, 4on its under side, an idler pulley 68. A lug 69 projects upwardly vfrom' the bracket 62 and an adjusting screw 70 is carried by this lug, the screw being provided with a collar 71. There is an upwardly projecting lug 72 on the block 65 and between this lug and the collar 71 there 1s arranged a compression s rin 47 3 which normally tends to move the bloc toward the right 1nL -.Fig. 5, `the tension of the spring beingl adjusted by means of the screw 7 0.
A bracket 74 is secured on the bar 42, adjacent the bracket 62, and .carries the idler pulley 75, this bracket and its idler pulley being substantially like the bracket 60 andv pulley' 61, as illustrated in Fig. 9.

Having thus described my inventlon, what I claim is:
1. In feed tables the combination'of means for advancing a sheet along said table and to one side thereof, an endless belt arranged along said side so as to engage one edge of the sheet and move therewith, means for driving .said belt, and means for adjusting the position of said belt transversely of sai table independently of said driving means.

In feed tables the combination of means for advancing a slleet along said table and to one side thereof, an endless belt arran ed along said side so as to 4engage one e ge of the sheet and move therewith, means for driving said belt, means for adjusting the position of said belt relative to said table, and a ositioning member' adjustable with said bell having a groove in which that porti'on of the belt that is engaged by the sheet runs, the wall of said groove serving to back up the belt and reventvdeliection thereof away from said ta le.
