IMPROVEMENT lN NURSERV-CHAlRS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 162,594, dated April 27, 1875 application filed December 19, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CALVIN A. XVATSON, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Nursery- Ghair, of which the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a vertical longitudinal section, on the line a c, Fig. 2, of my improved nursery-chair, showing it in position for use; Fi 2, a front view of the same; Fig.3, a bottom view as folded up for being stored or shipped; and Fig. 4, a vertical transverse section of the folded chair on the line 00 at, Fig. 3.

The object of myinvention is to provide for family use an improved nursery chair and stool, that may be used by children in place of the wicker chairs, and also as a footstool, and be readily folded up into small compass, for being conveniently put away or shipped.
In the drawing, A represents the main piece of my improved nursery-chair, which is supported on stationary or hinged legs B of such height that a chamber-vessel may be readily placed below the central aperture of the same. Then the legs B are hinged to the under side of board A they may be readily folded down on the same, for being stored away or readily tached, by hook and eye, spring-latch, or other equivalent fastening device, to main board A,
leaves 0, so as to form with the same a slide and back support for the child. By detachin g the brace and folding the leaves down on the main board a footstool is produced. The brace is placed into supporting-staples or guide-bands I) at the under side of the main board, to be out of the way, yet instantly available when the chair is to be used.
Having t-h us described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Pateut- As a new article of manufacture, a nurserychair constructed of a seat-board with central aperture, supported on hinged legs, and provided with hinged side boards held open by a removable brace-piece, combined substantially in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
