With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as 4will be more fully describedand particularly pointed out in the appendedA claims. Referring now'to the drawing in which like characters-of rference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the numeral 1 designates a s'ashless glass panel that is adapted to be raised or lowered in a door 2, preferably of avehicle body. In the upper portion of the door is a Window opening 3 thatis adapted to be closed by the glass panel when in raised position, while in the lower portion of the door is a vertical pocket 4 that communicates with the opening 3 and that is adapted to receive the glasspanel when in lowered position. suitable mechanism (not shown) may be ilsed for raising and lower ing the glass panel in the door.
For receiving the panel when it israised,
`I. preferably provide a frame 5 that is preferably detachably mounted in the window opening y3. This frame may be constructed of any vsuitable material but is preferably formed lof two strips of metal '6 and y7 respectively.y The strip 6 preferably comprises a channel portion 8 and a transversely curved portion 9, the latter preferably extending laterally from one side of the channel portion 8 and being preferably provided at its outer edge with av return-bent flange 10 that is in alignment with the base 11 of the channel. The strip is preferably of suiicient lengthv to extend around the upper and side walls of the Windowopening and, to provide a snug fit at the corners. T-hestrip is preferably provided at spaced oints with transversely extending substantially V-shaped notches 12 which will' permit the stripto be readily bent sofas to provide a horizontal vheader section 13v and parallel -vertical side sections 14 for enga ement` respectively with Vthe upper and si e walls of the window opening.
'Ehe strip 7 cooperates with the. strip 6 to` form the frame 5 and.- for this purpose is preferably `secured at its-'opposite ends by bolts 15 to a pair off horizontal flanges 16 extending inwardly from the vlower free ends of the vertical sections 14 of the strip 6. The strip 7 is preferably provided at its outer edge .with a downwardly extendingv return-bent lflange 17, while at its inner ledge `it is preferably provided with a straightv depending flange 18 that prefer'- ably engages the inner sides of the vertical channel portions of the strip '6, theV body portion of; the strip 7 being preferably` curved transversely as shown at 19 and serves as a suitable belt finish strip for `the door.
For guiding the panel 1 vertically in the frame 5,- I preferably provide strips of channel felt 20 that receive the opposite side edges of the panel and that are preferably secured in the channel portions of the vertical side sections 14 of the frame. The channel portion of the header section 13 is adapted to receive the u per edge' of the. panel when it is in raise position while portions 21 ofthe felt channels 20 preferably extend downwardly a sufficient distance into the pocket t for guiding the panel therein when it is lowered below the belt strip 7.
When the frame 5 is positioned in the window opening 3 the inner side 22 of the channel portion of the header section 13 preferably abuts a .depending projection 23 f of the upper cross bar 24v of the door frame while the bases `of the channels 'and `the return-bent iianges of each section.V of thestrip 6 preferably have an extended bearing upon the upper and side walls respectively of the window opening. For
holding the frame in position, the header section 13 isv preferably provided with g spaced openings 25 through which screws 26 or other suitable securing elements may be .driven into the upper cross bar 24 of the door frame. These screws preferably form the sole means4 of attachment of .the frame to the door, thus the frame may be easily `and quickly positioned in or removed fromI the window opening 3.
In the past it was a common occurrence i for the fastening means for window frames .to become loosened, Vallowing the frames to rattle and'cause undue noise. In the present instance, in case the bolts 1 5A gradually loosen up and allow the frame 5 ,to rattle, I have provided means associated therewith for taking up the play, said means at all times being `adapted to bear against the inside lower portion of the frame 5 forcing the same against a portion of the door frame and 4thereby preventing'rattli'ng of the window frame 5. For 'accomplishin this, I
preferably-provide a pair of bowe springs 27 that engage an inwardly extending flange 28 at the upper edge of the usual lock toward 29 forming a part of the door frame and that yieldably hold the frame 5 against the depending projection 23 and the lateral prov"jections 30'upon the standards 31 of the door frame. These springs are preferably provided at their upper ends with horlzontal lianges 32 that are preferably secured to the strip flanges 16 by means of the bolts 15, and are preferably provided 'at their lower ends with straight depending portions 33 that are preferably in alignment with the depending 4flange 18 at the inner edge of the belt strip 7.
For holding the downward extensions 21 of the channel guides in alignment with the fixed portions 20 thereof withln theframe,
I preferably secure the bases of the downwardly extending portions 21 of the channels to lugs 34 extendin` laterally from one edge of the straight portions 33 of the springs 27.
For reinforcing the connection between the belt strip 7 and the flanges 16 and 32 respectively of the strip 6 and springs 27, I
preferably provide a horizontal angle bar 35 thatis preferably held againstthe flanges 32 of the springs by means of the same bolts 15 that-secure the belt strip 7 tol the'iianges 16 of the strip 6. In view of the. fact the bolts 15 secure the springs, angle member and frame together, these parts together with the channel guides and glass panel may be readily assembled by one person upon a suitablev bench and subsequently applied to the door as a unit. For example, after the parts referred to have been assembled the f rame 5 may be inserted into the window vopening 3 of the door in such a manner that sa i attaching the same to a doqr is reduced to a A minimum.
i While it is believed that from the foregoing description the natureand advantages of the invention will be readily apparent, I desire to have it understood that I do not limit myself to 'what is herein shown and described and that such changesV may be resorted to when desired as fall within thescope of what'is claimed.
What I claim as my invention is 1. The combination with 'a support having an opening therein, of a two-part frame removably mounted in said opening, antirattling meansl for said` frame projecting' fromssaid frame and engaging said support.

2. The combination with a` support having a window opening, and a transparent panel movable in the support to close the opening,
of a frame adapted to .be mounted inthe opening to receive the panel, means securing the frame to the support in substantial registration with said opening and means secured to said frame and adapted to engage said support for preventing said frame from rattling. l

The combination with a support having .a window opening therein and a pocket communicating with the opening, of a frame in the opening, flexible channel members secured to said frame and having portions extending freely into lsaidpocket, a transparent panel adapted to travel inthe channels of said members, anti-rattle means for said frame including yieldable members projecting from the'frame, and means for securing.
the extensions of said channel members to saidjlyieldable members adjacent to the free ends thereof, means whereby the latter.. will hold the free portions of the channels to facilitate movement of the panel therein.
.4. The combination with a support having a window opening therein and a pocket' connnunicating with said opening, a frame -secured to said support in substantial portions projecting freely into said pocket,
