According to this invention, the hair-comb comprises in combination at least three substantially parallel rows of teeth arranged side by side and held close together solely along the back ofthe comb with the teeth of one row spaced apart beyond the roots from the teeth of anadjacent row to provide between each two contiguous rows? a longitudinal channel extending from the tips of the teeth to a situation atthe roots. If desired, the rows of teeth may be integral with one another alongthe back ofthe comb. The comb is of rigid and neat appearance, and the spaces between the rows of teeth enable the `hair to be properly deflected without binding or breaking on the teeth, the latter being preferably so arranged that no .single hair cany pass through thev comb without being rubbed or curved in the process. The hairs are cleaned and polished and a wave 1s imparted to them.

A further feature of the invention consists in providing Ia means carried by the comb, such as an electric heater in the back of the comb, for the purpose of heating the comb so that-the wave imparted to the hair may beset, and according to al still further feature ofthe invention, one or more-of the teethv or rows of teethmay be hollow for communication with a reservoir, which may be in the back of the comb, so that hair lotions or tonics may be conveyed to the scalp. The combs may be of any desired suitable material and may be built up of separate toothed units, or they may be moulded or` cast or otherwise formed in one piece.

In the embodiment shown in Figurel the teeth of the centre row are inclined and are of greater pitch thanthe outside rows, each of whichhas perpendicular teeth. In the embodimentvshown in Figure 3 the teeth in each row are perpendicular but those in the centre row 'are staggered in relation to those in the louter rows; the pitch of the teeth in each row being the same.
