My present invention relates to asupply,
waste and overflow fittingso'designed as to be employed in either the now prevalent enclosed piping constructions or in the open plumbing work heretofore used. The object of the invention is the provision of a fitting of. this type associated with a bath tub', basin or otherfixture inwhich the sup:
ply and overflow member are arranged in the wall of the fixture andthrough which the valve or stopper for thecontrol of the passage of water through the waste pipe,
may be withdrawn when necessaryfor re-' pairs or replacement or for other purposes,

Referring to the drawing and particularly to, Figs. 1 and 2, it will be seen. that I-have illustrated the invention in connectionxwith a bath tub which is designated at 10,-al-

I The invention furthermore, is illustrated with a tub, whether enclosed or otherwise, whlch is provided with an upperflange l'l-termina'ting in the rim of the tub. .The supply and overflow member 22-ismade to includean inlet connection-23to which there is secured .a supply pipe 24. leading Extending upwardly from the T con by valves or faucets in the usual manner.
The inlet connection 23 formingpart of the supply. and overflow memherextends into the interior of this member andtherein forms a socket 25- for the reception of the inner end" of a spout member 26. This 'spout member 26 is adaptedrrto extend through an opening 27 provided therefor in the wall of the tub 10. There are ports 28' in the walls of the spoutmember and the inlet connection 23: whereby communication is I made between the chamber 1n the inletconnection and the chamber 29 in the spout member.- The spout member is' provided with av discharge nozzle 30 which is in com- 'munication with the chamber 29' whereby .water permitted to flow from the supply' pipe 2& passes through the inletconnection to the chamber 29 inthe spout member and thence through the nozzle 30 to the tub or I other ifixture.

In oppositely clis posed positions the outer face' ot the spout member 26 is provided with notches 45 adapted to be engaged by ribs 46 provided for this purpose on the inner face of the hub of the handle so that in turning the handle the ribs may snap into and out of 1 these notches within which they are normally maintained in position with the handle either up or down by means of a spring 47 extending between the crank end 41 of the stem and the adjacent end wall of the spout member. As willbe understood, this provides for a slight longitudinal movement of the stem which, however, does not aflect the function thereof in operatingthe stopper as hereinafter described. 1 for in a link 48which is pivotally connected as indicated at 49 toa socket link 50 within the supply and overflow member 22. This socket link 50 is connected by chain links 51,52 and a bale or cross bar 53 to the stopper or valve 7 member 16.

In afltting of the class described, a waste pipe, a stopper therein, a supply and overflow member connected to the waste pipe, a spout member removably attached to the supply and overflow member, a stem extending through the said spout member, and a connection between the said stem and stopper for operating the latter by the former, the said stopper beingremovable through the supply and overflow member when the spout member is detached.
3. In a fitting of the class described, a waste pipe, a stopper therein," a supply and overflow member having an overflow chamber in communication with the waste pipe and an inlet connection extending into the said'overflow chamber, a, spout member making communication with the said inlet connection and being removably attached to the said supply and overflow member,.and means associated with the said spout member for operating the stopper in the waste pipe, the
said stopper being removable through thesaid supply and overflow member when the spout member is detached.
4. In a fitting of the class described, a tub, a waste pipe leading therefrom, a stopper in the waste pipe, a supply and overflow member connected with the waste pipe, a spout member adapted to extend through an opening in the wall of the tub and to be removably attached to the said supply and overflow member, and means associated with the spout member for operating. the stopper in the waste pipe, the said stopper being removable through the supply and overflow member when the spout member is detached.
5. In a fitting of the class described, a tub, 'a waste pipe leadingtherefrom, a stopper in the waste pipe, an overflow pipe connected to the waste pipe, a supply and overflow member connectedto the overflow pipe, a
spout member extending through an opening in the wall of the tub and adapted to be removablyj attached to the said supply and overflow member, and means associated with the spout member for operating the stopper in the waste pipe, the said stopper being removable through the said supply and over flow memberwhen the spout member is detached.
6. In a fitting of the class described, a tub, a waste pipe leading therefrom, a stopper in the waste pipe, an overflow pipe connected to the waste pipe, a supply and overflow member connected to the overflow pipe, a spout member extending through an open ing in the wall of the tub and engaging with the said supply and overflow member, means for detachably connecting the spout member to the said supply and overflow member, a stem passing through the said spout member, and means connecting the stem with the said stopper whereby the latter is operated by the former, the said stopper being removable through the said supply and overflow member when the said spout member is detached.

In a fitting of the class described, a tub, a waste pipe leading therefrom, a stopper in the waste pipe, an overflow pipe connected to the Waste pipe, a supply and overflow member connected to the overflow pipe and having an overflow chamber and an inlet connection extending into the said overflow chamber, a spout member adapted to extend through an opening provided in a wall of the tub andhaving an apertured flange adapted" to bear against the outer surface of the tub, the said spout member extending intoa socketprovided therefor in the said inlet connection within the said overflow chamber in the supply and overflow member, means for removably attaching the spout member to the said supply and overflow member, a stem passing through the said to and from a seated position, the said stopper being removable through thesocket in the inlet connection, in which the said spout member is seated, when the saidspout member is detached. j
