The invention consists in the novel construction of parts and their cooperative relation with each other to be more fully described hereinafter and the novelty of which will be particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed. Y
In the accompanying drawings to be taken as a part of this specification there is fully and clearly illustrated a preferred embodiment of v the invention, in which drawings- Figure 1 is a view in vertical section of a lavatory showing the drain control means and water supply means in cooperative relation,

Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, there is shown a plumbing fixture such as a lavatory or tub having an upright wall 2 with three horizontally spaced openings, 3, 4,
and 5 extending horizontally therethrough. Positioned behind the wall 2 there is a T-shaped water supply mixing pipe 6 having its arms communicatively connected to the outlets from the casings of the spaced water control valves '5, 8. The casings I and 8 have water inlets 9 and ill for connection to hot and cold water supplies, respectively, and have their bonnet portions H and I2, respectively, extending through the apertures 3 and 5, respectively. The valve casings 1 and 8 are clamped in any of the customary manners by locknuts E3 to the wall 2. The
valve 1 has an operating handle it and the valve 8 has an operating handle [5,.
The stem portion l6 of the water supply pipe 6 extends through the wall opening 4 and has its free end screw threaded to receive a spout member I7, the pipe [6 being screw threaded into the inlet I8 of the spout passageway I9. The inlet I8 opens through the rear face of the cylindrical rear body portion 20 of the spout member H, the inlet 18 being concentric with the body portion 20 which is therefore concentric with the horizontal pipe I 6. Extending from the rear face of the spout member portion 20 there are upper and lower post members 2| which are spaced radially from the inlet [8 and which abut the wall 2 around the opening 4. The post members 2!, and therefore the spout member ll, are clamped against the wall 2 by the lock nuts I3 which, when screwed forwardly on their bonnet portions against the rear face of the wall 2, serve to pull the pipes 6 and I6 rearwardly in a direction away from the wall 2 thereby urging the posts 2| against the front face of the wall 2. These posts 2| are set inwardly from the periphery of the portion 20 and space the body portion 20 from the wall 2 to provide a space for a lever operating means in the form of a ring member 22 which surrounds the posts 2| and closes the space at the rear of the body portion between it and the wall 2. The ring member 22 has a forwardly extending annular flange 23 which surrounds and overlaps the cylindrical body portion 20. Extending forwardly from the ring member 22 above the spout member I! there is a handgrip operating member 24 for rotating the ring member 22. Surrounding the pipe It and journaled or rotatably supported thereon there is a rotary operating member or sleeve member 25 comprised of two telescoped parts in frictional engagement, the outer one of which extends into the space between the wall 2 and the body portion 20 and is rigidly connected by spaced web members 26 to the ring member 22. members provide arcuate openings 2'17 through which the post members 2| extend so that the ring member is freely rotatable within its operating range. The inner one of the telescoped sleeve member parts extends beyond the rear face of the wall 2 and has a peripheral shoulder against which the end of the outer part abuts. The outer part has a longitudinal recess or notch 28 therein into which a lug 29 on the inner sleeve part extends inward to look the sleeve parts against rotation relative to each other. The inner sleeve member part extends rearwardly beyond the wall 2 and has on its free end behind the wall 2 a'radially or laterally extending lever arm '30 having a horizontal aperture 3| The web through its free end. Supported and fixed in the aperture 3| is one end of a thrust rod 32 forming part Of the linkage means which connects the arm 30 to a drain valve operating lever 33 which extends into the lavatory outlet drain pipe 34. The lever 33 is connected within the pipe 34 in any of the well-known arrangements to a vertically movable pop-up drain valve 35 which is cooperable with a seat member 36 connected to the outlet pipe 34 and sealed in an opening through the bottom wall 31 of the lavatory or tub fixture.
In the operating of this plumbing fitting, it having been connected up to the hot and cold water supplies and to the usual sewer connection, the lever means which includes the ring member 22 is rotatable about the spout member H to open and close the drain valve 35. In the position of the drain control mechanism which is shown in the drawings, the handgrip member 24 is in an intermediate position between its full open dotted line position 40 and its full closed dotted line position M, as shown in Fig. 2. The drain valve member 35 is shown in Fig. l in full line in its intermediate position, while its full open position is shown in dotted lines as at 42. When the handgrip member 26 is rotated counterclockwise facing Fig. 2 to the dotted line position ill, the ring member 22 which forms part of this lever means is rotated about its supporting pipe IE to move the arm 39 downwardly. Accordingly, the linkage means 32 is moved downward thereby pivoting the drain controlling lever 33 so that it forces the valve member 35 to its full open position as at 42. When it is desired to close the valve member 35 against its valve seat 36, the handgrip member 24 is rotated clockwise to the dotted line position M. This movement of the handgrip member 24 rotates the sleeve member 25 about its supporting pipe is and lifts the arm 39 thereby pulling the linkage means 32 upward and also the operating lever 33, thereby to pull the valve member 35 to its seat 35. In the assembly of this mechanism it may be noted that the two parts of the sleeve member 25 are inserted into the opening 4 from the opposite sides of the wall 2 and when in fully telescoped position are locked against rota-.- tion relative to each other by the interengages ment of the sides of the recess Z8 and the lug 2 9. The spout member I! may now be screw threaded onto the pipe it prior to the connection of the linkage means 32 into its aperture 35 in the arm 39. The slots or apertures 2? the ring mem: ber 22 and between the webs 25 are, of course, of sufficient arcuate length so that the ring member is freely rotatable without obstruction by the posts 2| and to an extent to move the valve member to full open and full elosed p051:- tions.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States is:
l. A plumbing fitting comprising a spout member, a water supply pipe connected to said spout member, a rotatable sleeve member surrounding said supply pipe, means to rotate said sleeve member, a drain valve, and means operatively connecting said sleeve member to said valve for actuating said valve upon rotation of said sleeve member.

A plumbing fitting comprising a spout member, a water supply pipe connected to said spout member, a rotatable sleeve member surrounding said supply pipe, an arm fixed to and extending from one end portion of said sleeve member, lever means fixed to the opposite end portion of and for rotating said sleeve member, a drain valve, and means operatively connecting said arm to said valve for actuating said valve upon rotation of said sleeve member.
4. A plumbing fitting comprising a spout member with a horizontal water inlet in its rear face, a water supply pipe projecting horizontally and rearwardly from said spout member and connected to said inlet, a rotary operating member surrounding and supported on said pipe, an arm extending laterally from said rotary member, a drain valve, linkage means operatively connecting said arm to said valve, and lever means fixed to said rotary member and extending beyond the periphery of said spout member for rotating said operating member.

A plumbing fitting comprising a spout member with a horizontal water inlet in its rear face, a water supply pipe projecting horizontally and rearwardly from said spout member and connected to said inlet, a two-part telescopic sleeve member surrounding and rotatably supported on said pipe, means locking the parts of said sleeve member against rotation relative to each other, an arm extending laterally from one of the parts of said sleeve member, a drain valve, linkage means operatively connecting said arm to said valve, and lever means fixed to the other of the parts of said sleeve member and extending beyond the periphery of said spout member for rotating said sleeve member.
5. A plumbing fitting comprising a spout member having a horizontal inlet through its rear portion, a water supply pipe connected to said inlet and extending horizontally and rearwardly from said member, said member having a rear cylindrical portion concentric with said water supply pipe, a sleeve member surrounding and rotatably supported on said supply pipe, a ring member surrounding said cylindrical portion and fixed to said sleeve member so that rotation of said ring member will rotate said sleeve member, an operating arm extending laterally from said sleeve member, a handgrip operating member extending from said ring member, a drain valve, and means operatively connecting said arm to said valve.
7. In a plumbing fixture having a wall with an opening therethrough, a spout member having a passageway therethrough with an inlet alined with said opening, a water supply pipe extending through said opening and connected to said inlet, a sleeve member extending through said opening and surrounding said pipe, lever means extending from said sleeve member on they spout member side of said wall for rotating said sleeve member, an arm extending from said sleeve member on the other side of said wall, a drain valve, and means operatively connecting said arm to said valve.
8. In a plumbing fixture having a wall with an opening therethrough, a spout member having a body portion with'a passageway therethrough with its inlet alined with said opening, means spacing said body portion from said wall, a
water supply pipe extending through said opening and connected to said inlet, a sleeve member surrounding said pipe, a ring member surrounding said pipe and closing the space between said body portion and said wall, means connecting said sleeve member to said ring member, an arm extending laterally from said sleeve member on the opposite side of said wall from said ring member, a drain valve, means operatively connecting said arm to said valve, and means to rotate said ring member to actuate said valve.
9. In a plumbing fixture having an upright wall with a horizontal opening therethrough, a spout member having a cylindrical body portion with a rear face having an inlet therethrough concentric with said body portion, a plurality of post members spaced radially from said inlet and extending from said rear face into abutting engagement with said upright wall to space said body portion from said wall, a water supply pipe extending through said wall opening and connected to said inlet, a sleeve member having two telescoped parts surrounding and rotatably supported on said pipe, a ring member closing the space between said body portion and said wall and having a flange surrounding and overlapping said body portion, a handgrip operating member extending forward from said ring member above said spout member, web members extending between said post members and connecting said ring member to one of said sleeve member parts, an arm extending from the other of said eleeve member parts on the opposite side of said wall from said ring member, a drain valve, and linkage means operatively connecting said arm to said valve.
