Description

Feb. 8, 1927.
W. T.'HENRY RECEPTACLE HOLDER Filed March 19, 1926 Patented Fehfi, 1e27 aerate RECEPTACLE HOLDER. h
Application filed March 19, 1928. Serial No. 95,925;
This improvement relates to new and useful improvements in a receptacle holder.
One object of the invention is toprovide a device of the character described specially 5 designed for the purpose of holding soap v trays, and similar containers and embodying a flexible vacuum cup for anchoring the holder to a suitable support.
Another object of the invention is to provide a holder of the character described which may be readily detached from its sup'-.
ort, when not in use.
A further feature ofthe invention resides .in the provision of a holder of the character I described which is of simple and light construction and may be cheaply and easily produced and readily carried about for use.
With the above and other objects in view the invention has particular relation to certain novel features of construction, arrangement of parts and use, an example of which is given in this specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 shows a cross sectional view of the soap tray, as mounted on a holder.
Figure 2 shows-a bottom plan view of the tray and holder, and 1 v Figure 3'shows a cross sectional view of the tray showing a modified type of holder.
Referrin now.more particularly to the drawings w erein like numerals of reference designate similar parts in each of the figures, the numeral 1 deslgnates a container, a soap tray being illustrated in the present instance, The numeral 2 desi ates the holder as a whole, of the form s own in Figures 1 and 2.- This typeof holder is adapted to besecured to the top, as 3, of a wash basin, or other supportln a horizontal plane. iThe 40 holder will preferably be formed'of sheet metal,or other material and has the plate 4 forming an-anchor for the vacuum cup '5 This cup is formed of rubber or other suitable flexible materialand is applied to the 1 surface 3 in the well known manner and is held thereon by the normal air pressure. The
- plate 4 forms a platform on which the tray 1 v rests and formed integrally with the plate there is the upturned bracket 6. This bracket is formed with a hook-7 which engages .over the adjacent edge of the tray. The bracket 6 has the integral outwardly turned legs 8, 8, whose freeends are turned into 'a common plane with the free edge of the vacuum cup 5 so as to rest on the surface 3 and form braces for said tray. y
In the formshown in Figure 3 the parts hereinbefore described are substantially similar to the corres onding parts shown in Fig ures 1 and 2 an are designated by similar numerals, except that the vacuum cup 5 is anchored to the bracket 6 and is thereby adapted to be secured to the vertical side 9 of the basin or other support, as shown in Figure 3.
What I claim is:
1. A receptacle holder including a latform adapted to support a receptac e, a bracket integral with the platform and upstanding therefrom, spaced h'ooks carried by said bracket adapted to engage the rim of the receptacle on said platform, a vacuum cup anchored to said holder and adapted to support the same and a leg forming a brace integral'with the holder and' whose free end is turned into substantial alignment with the rim of said cup.
2. A receptacle holder including a latform adapted to support a receptac e, a
bracket integral with the standing therefrom, space gilatform and uphooks carried by said bracket adapted to en age the rim of the receptacle on said plat orm, a vacuum cup'anchoredto said holder and. adapted to sup ort the same and a pair of legs integral wit the bracket on opposite sides of the cup and'whose free endsare turned into substantially a common plane with the rim of said cup.
v In testimony whereof. I have signed my name to this specification. WILLIAM T. HENRY.
