PATENT OFFICE.
FRANCISCO R. YCASIANO, OF CALOOCAN, PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.
SUPERHEATER UNIT.
Application filed September 16, 1925. Serial No. 56,728.
'Ihis invention relates to superheater units for boilers and has ior its principal object to provide a simple and ecient means for supporting a plurality ot superheater elements in the flue pipe.
One ot' the important objects -ot the invention is to provide a superheater unit of the above mentioned character, wherein an autogenous weld is employ-ed for supporting the superheater elements in spaced relation.
A further object is to provide a superlieater oi'f the above mentionet character with means otl supporting in spaced relation the tube elements, which is simple in construction, inexpensive, strong and durable, and i'urther well adapted for the purpose for which it is designated. 1
Other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparentduring the course ot the following description.
In the accompanying drawing, forming a part oit this specification, and in which like numerals designate like parts throughout the same: y
Figure l is a longitudinal sectional view through a flue, showing the manner in which a set of superheater elements ispsupported in spaced. relation therein.
Figure 2 is a transverse sectional view, taken approximately on line 2-2 of Figure l, and Y v Figure 3- is a similar section taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Figurel.
In the drawing, wherein 'for the purpose ot illustration is shown the preferred em bodiment of my invention, the numeral l designates generally the superheater unit, the same comprising the superheater flue Q, in which is arranged the plurality or" longitudinally extending superheater tubes 3. For the purposes et supporting the tubes in longitudinalspaced rela-tion, a cross bar, such as is shown at l is disposed between the upper and lower pairs of superheater tubes at spaced intervals throughout the length thereof.` The superheater tubes are autogenously welded to the bar 4, as illustrated at 5.
The alternate cross bars 4 are provided with the extensions 6 at the ends thereof, and the extensions'are disposed downwardly around the lower pair oi' superheater tubes, so that the free ends ot the extensions will engage the inner wall ot the flue 2, whereby the superheater tubes are spaced from the inner walls ot the flue. The extensions 6 are autogenously welded to the lower pair ot tubes, as illustrated at 7.
It will thus be seen from the foregoing description -that a superheater unit has been provided, wherein the superheater tubes are supported in longitudinal spaced relation with respect to each other within the flue, and are further supported in spaced relation with respect to the inner wall ot' the flue. l
While I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that various changes in the size, shape andy arrangement of parts may be resorted to,
without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope ot the appended claim.V f Y IIaving thus described my invention, what I claim is: Y
In a superheater unit, ak flue, a plurality` of longitudinally extending superheater tubes arranged therein, flat cross bars interposed between thetubes and being autogenously welded to said tubes tor supporting the same in longitudinal spaced relation with respect to each other, the alternate b ars being of greater length than the other bars, said longer bars each `having its respective ends disposed downwardly adjacent the underlying tube, and autogenously welded thereto, the tree ends of the longer bars being adapted to engage the inner wall of the flue for supporting the superheater tubes in spaced relation with respect to the inner wall ot the flue.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
