Our invention relates to a building construction composed of reenforced, pre-cast units of concrete; the units being all of such formation or nature as to be portable and constructed so that they may be readily Vset up in co-operative relation or association, to provide the walls and partitions of a building, with the respective elementsY or units so formed that they may be rmly sesured together or locked in place to provide a weather-proof and rigid construction.
Our invention is 'particularly adapted to provide the various units for forming the main side or outer walls and the partitions or inner walls of a building and more especially a building wherein the walls are so arranged as to provide air spaces or chambers intermediate of both sides of the walls; the respective units being formed that they Y may be readily assembled and put Vinto place, and at the same time quickly knocket down and arranged in convenient and compact form for transportation.
The invention and its advantages will be more readily comprehended from the following detailed description of the drawings, wherein Figure l is a side elevation of a garage type of building constructed from our unit parts and illustrating a door opening.
Figure 2 is a detail sectional view taken on the line 17, 17 of Figure 1, looking in theV direction of the arrows Y Figure 3 is a detail view in perspective of the upper portion of the outer corner or door post employed in Figure l.
Figure 4 is a similar view of what may be termed the inner door post, namely the post intermediatel of the corners of the building as illustrated in Figure l.
Our invention is more especially adapted for single story buildings, cottages, garages and the like; and in the exempliication disclosed in Figure l where a building is shown formed of our pre-cast units, it
comprises a concrete corner post y30, of
length commensurate with the height of the building intended to be constructed. The
post 30 is previously cast or molded with suitable reenforcing elements or rods disposed lengthwise thereof, and for the sake of lightness is preferably provided with a central opening 32 to provide a hollow column or post, which, however, will be of ample strength. The post is angular in cross section and formed to provide portions disposed parallel with two of the outer sides of the post adapted to overlap the adjacent wall members as shown at 33 in Figure 3, and thus also provide abutting surfaces for the outer wall-forming slabsorpanels 3d, whereby the latter are maintained in place. rEhe wall is preferably of double wall construction; and the inner and outer Vpanels slot or socket is restricted to prevent withdrawal of the bolt-head. The openings or slots in the sides of the posts are preferably provided with metallic inserts, of formation corresponding with the description of openings heretofore given.
The invention contemplates the use of suitable posts or uprights disposed intermediate of the ends of adjacent slabs or panels, thus providing the building with posts or uprights placed at equi-distances apart, as illustrated at 43m Figure 1L The intermediate posts 43 are also of pre-cast concrete construction with suitable reenforcing elements, and these posts may also be made hollow, if desired, except for the upper ends; the upper ends of all posts being preferably solid to provide a bolt-head receiving socket. The intermediate posts i3 preferably have oneof the sides provided with integral and laterally disposed eXtensions or wings, the extensions being disposed in opposite directions .parallel with the outer longitudinal side of the post so as toprovide integral battensadapted to overlap the adjacent ends of the outer wall panels 34. With the construction illustrated in Figures land 2, it is apparent that none of the postsV have bolt-receiving openings on their outer'sides, with the result that the outside of ythe building is given a smooth, neat appearance and finish.

In a concrete building construction, of precast concrete units, a post of reen'orcedV concrete, the outer side whereof is provided with an integral laterally disposed longitudinal extension, one of the sides of the post at the upper end thereof being provided with a longitudinal recess, the-'side of the post at a point intermediate of said recess and adjacent sides being formed with i panel receiving portions.
