vUNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHRISTIAN H. KEUJI, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
EAB, MUFF.
Application led May 9,
My invention relates to improvements in ear mus and has for its object to'produce an ear covering capable of use on either ear of the wearer, thus obviating the necessity of manufacturing rights and lette, wherein the muli' is attached to the wearers ear by an external elastic band and an internal presser-foot adjustably engaging the interior ot' the wearers ear by beine' seated in the concha (or deepest hollow) or that ear.
Drawings.
In the drawings- Figure l is a plan view ot a mutt' embodying my invention in place upon an ear.
Figure 2ois an end elevation of said mutt.
Description.'
As shown in the drawings I employ a frame 3 preferably formed of a single looped wire as shown, and having the terminal lugs 4 4; covered with fabric rIhe hinged plate 6 is formed as shown and hingedly mounted on the trame 3 as illustrated. Upon that plate 6 the arm 8 is hinged by means of the pivot 7 the terminal ot that arm 8 being the loop 9, preferably covered with an elastic coating and contoured to fit into the concha of the wearers ear as shown in Fig. l.
The mutt is provided with an elastic band 10, vertically disposed and arranged to fit on the exterior of the wearers ear, at the rear of the base of the ear.
1i925. serian No. 29,028.
The muff is easily seated in place on either ear, is interchangeable and obviates the necessity ot manufacturing rights and let'ts. When in place it causes no discomfort to the wearer, and is not apt to be displaced by high wind or accidental contact with extraneous objects.
Various changes ot' form can be made without depart-ure from my invention as deined in the appended claim.
- The arm 8 and loop 9 carried thereby are adjustable, with reference to the person ot the wearer, both inwardly and outwardly, upwardly and downwardly, so as to render the loop 9 adjustable to lit the concha of whatsoever conforma-tiene' Y CHRISTIAN KEIM.
