GAME BOARD.

This invention relates to game tables of that type wherein a ball is projected along an alleyway out onto the table proper and then moves downward between a series of obstructions and eventually is stopped by some impediment, the position of the ball when it stops giving certain points to the player.

,The general object of the present invention is to improve upon tables of this character by a spinner struck by the ball as it is projected onto the table, this spinner giving a certain count to the player.

A further object is to provide means whereby all balls projected with sufiicient force shall be directed downward initially at the middle of the table so as to secure an even chance for every player.

A still further object is to provide a table of this character with stalls at the lower end of the table into any one of which the ball may stop, thus giving further count to the player.

My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a top plan view of a game table constructed in accordance with my invention; I

Referring to these drawings 10 designates the table upon which the game is played. This table consists of a board having a circularl directed wall 11 at its upper end, the si es of the board being defined by longi tudinally extending walls 12 and the bottom of the board having a transversely extending wall 13. At one side of the board there is provided the alley or passageway 14. which is closed by a side wall and a top wall and has an opening'15 into which the marble or ball forming the playing piece may be dropped. Disposed within the forward end of the alley is a plunger 16 which is projected by means of a spring 17 and has a central rod whereby the plunger may be retracted against the action of the spring, this plunger having a handle exterior to the wall 13; The alleyway '14 extends along one side of the board but terminates at the unction of one side wall 12 with the curved wall 11. arms or vanes 18 mounted upon a central shaft 19 and operating'over a dial 20, having thereon numbers as, for instance, from 1 to 12. One of the arms 18 constitutes a pointer and the number indicated by this pointer after the spinner has been rotated by the impact of the ball and come to rest,

The ball after it strikes the spinner will, of course, be deflected by the curved wall 11 and at the top of this curved wall there is provided the two converging walls 21, that wall 21 nearest the spinner having an opening 22 so that the ball after it leaves the spinner will move through the opening 22 and strike against a rubber or other pad 23 carried by the opposite wall 21. The ball will then, by gravity, roll downward and pass between a plurality of rows of spikes 24 arranged in transverse series, one series of spikes being disposed in staggered relation to the spikes of the other series. The ball will thus be deflected back and forth between these spikes until it eventually lands in one of the series of stalls 25. these stalls or pockets extending longitudinally and being numbered from 1 to 12. A hell or gong 26 is disposed approximately at the middle of the board and if the ball strikes this bell a certain special count may be awarded to the player.

The board is designed to be supported in an inclined position and to this end I form the board with a transversely extending dovetailed recess 28 and provide a support 29 having its upper edge dovetailed to engage in this recess and interlock therewith. Thus, this support may be readily removed from its engagement with the board for v storing or packing.

I claim 1. A game board having side walls and an upper curved wall, a longitudinally extending alleyway formed adjacent one wall and extending to the junction of the curved wall with said last named wall, means coacting with the alleyway for projecting a ball along the alleyway, a spinner disposed at the end of the alleyway, a plurality of obstructions disposed on the board and between which the projected ball after it leaves the spinner must pass, and a series of stalls arranged at the lower end of the board and into which the ball will fall.

2. A game board having side walls and an end curved wall, means for projecting a ball along one of said side walls, d0wnwardly and convergently disposed walls disposed adjacent the end wall, that one of said walls adjacent the projecting means being spaced from the curved wall and the other one of said convergent walls extending to the curved wall and having a buffer. a series of impediments arranged over the face of the board below said convergent walls, and stalls at the lower end of 'the board into any one of which the ball may fall.
