Application filed October 23, 1925.
This invention relates to improvements in seat attachment for use upon toilet bowls in providing greater comfort to persons so using the bowl with the seating attachment applied.
lVith the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully desc "ibed, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawing Figure 1 is a side elevation of a bowl with my invention applied thereto.
Figure 2 is a fragmentary front elevation illustrating the exactness of the adaptability of the seat to the bowl.
Figure 3 is a top plan view of the toilet bowl with the invention applied.
Referring to the drawing in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character 10 indicates the conventional form of toilet bowlhaving; a seat 11 hingedly secured as at 12 upon the upper and inner sides thereof.
The invention resides in the provision of a seat arrangement or attachment to be so applied upon a toilet bowl and supported upon its upper side and beneath the seat therefor in providing greater comfort to persons so using the bowl in so far as the person may sit upright instead of the usual bending over. To facilitate the support of the seat attachment, 1 provide a plurality of vertically disposed bars 13 providing inwardly offset portions 14 and terminating in downwardly extending end portions 15 whereby the inwardly bent offset portions Serial No. 64,439.
14: may rest upon the periphery of the bowl 40 1O beneath the seat 11 while the clownwardly extending extremities or end portions 15 engage the inner sides of the bowl 10 in preventing the bars 13 from being accidentally displaced after so applied. These bars being arranged upon sides and rear portions of the bowl 10 and have a padded railing 16 arranged in the formation of a substantially U-sha-pe and supported upon the upper outwardly extending end portions 17 of the bars 13 and having its upper end facing the forward portion of the bowl 10 and seat 11 whereby the bowl is readily accessible with no difliculty incident to the construction or arrangement of the present invention when so applied.
The invention is susceptible of Various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention, what is claimed is a A seat attachment for use upon toilet bowls comprising a plurality of vertically disposed bars providing inwardly offset and downwardly extending end portions provided upon their lower ends for resting upon the periphery of the toilet bowl and for engagement with the inner side thereof the upper free ends of the bars terminating in outwardly extending oflset end portions, and a substantially U-shaped padded rail secured to the upper outwardly extending 75 offset end portions of the bars.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
