This invention relates to display and dispensing apparatus and particularly to a novel means of display adapted to operate in conjunction with a dispenser.
An object of the present invention is to provide a ready medium for a dispensing ap Earatus which will attract the eye of passersy and direct attention to the product of what nature is to be sold or dispensed from the dispenser.
lin practicing the invention we choose to provide some form of dispenser which includes a container preferably transparent in nature and which may or may not be illuminated, with suitable means for passing a liquid to be dis ensed from the dispenser, and means within the container in such a manner that the liquid sprays out in a fan like form. It will be appreciated that if some liquid such as orange juice is to be dis ensed, that the constant circulation of sue orange juice would be of material advantage as it would prevent a settling of any solid matter within the orange juice and the resultant drink dispensed from such dispenser would be refreshing, satisfying and wholesome. Such circulation of the juice, of whatever character it may be, or of a mixture of said juice with the water or with Water and flavoring matter or sweetening matter or the like, keeps the entire mass a itated and homogeneously mixed so that 51811 it is dispensed the mixture is properly balanced, with not too much of one constituent or too little of another. This is particularly desirable inthe case of orange juice which contains essential oil, which will in time float at the surface of the juice or mixture if said agitation is not provided. If this be dispensed and consumed the eifects are most unpleasant. It will be seen that an ob ject of the invention is to assure the dispensmg of such drinks in a proper balanced condition as to ingredients, including pulp or other solids, if there be such. These would otherwise settle to the. bottom of the apparatus.
The average dispenser of today allows a settling of, the solid matter in any liquid to be dispensed; and usually the dispenser outlet valve is at the lower end of the dispenser container with the result that a vast amount of solid matterv is usually discharged through the valve with very little of the liquid. in the liquid used in our container is constantly kept in a state of agitation so that the disagreeable result stated above for ordinary dispensers is readily overcome.
The invention has for further objects the provision of an improved-display apparatus and dispenser which will be superior in point of relative simplicity and inexpensiveness, taken in conjunction with increased utility, durability and general efiicieney and service ability.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel and useful provision, formation, construction, association and relative arrangement of parts, members and features, as well as the method of use of the invention, all as shown in certain of its embodiments in the accompanying drawings, described generally, and more particularly pointed out in claims.

Referring nowwith particularity to the drawings, we have designated the device as an entirety and inone embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, byA, of which a is the dispensing and dlsplay container, 5 a supply container, 0 means for pumping liquid from the supply container to the dispensing container an ameans ior obtaining various dis play effects within the display and dispensing containera. The supply container 5 includes a top plate member 1 which is flanged as shown at 2 for connection with the rim of the supply container in, and such top plate member is formed to carry suitable propulsive means such as a motor 3. The shaft 4 of said motor and of the means a is extended through suitable bushings 5 downwardly within the supply container b, and said shaft is surrounded by a protecting casing or tubing 6, the end of such tubing or casing for the shaft terminating adjacent the bottom 7 of the container b, and carrying a pump casing 8 which is adapted to confine a propeller 9 carried by the shaft 1. The said casing 8 is provided with an annular flange portion 10 providing an entrance port 11 for fluid so that the same may enter within the casing 8, and said casing is likewise provided with a nipple 12 communicating with the interior of the casing 8.
The container a may comprise in the embodiment shown a bulbous-shaped. member which may be transparent, or in any event not opaque, and said member a is carried by a suitable hollow standard or base 13, there being gasket means 14: between the container or and such base 13. Likewise the base is annularly beaded as shown at 15 to receive an annular plate 16 formed with a curved rim portion 17 fitting within the annular head 15. Passed through sides of the container at are one or more valved outlet members 18. The said valve outlet members mav include in each instance piping 19 which is screw-threaded adjacent an end thereof as shown at 20 and which piping is secured on opposite sides of the container at by suitablemeans as shown at 21 and 22. The piping permits communication with the interior of the casing, and that portion of the piping which is outside the casing carries the valve 23 which may be open or closed by a suitable valve plug 24 provided with a handle for operatlng the valve plug. Extending through the annular opening of the annular plate 16 is an overflow pipe 25, the upper open end or mouth end of which is at a certain selected or definite level or height within the casing 11, as indicated at 26. Likewise passed concentrically through said piping 25 is a second pipe or tube 27 which extends slightly above the mouth end of such pipe 25, as shown at 28. The said pipe or tube 27 passes through the closed base 29 of the pipe 25, there being a seal provided at this zone so that fluid cannot possibly leak, and said pipe is ovided with a flanged member 3O which is interiorly screwthreaded so that a tubing or piping 31 may be secured thereto, as shown at 32. This permits communication as between the tubing 31 and the interior of the piping 25. The tubing 31 is passed through an opening in the plate 1 and has its end portion terminating slightly below the bottom of such plate, as shown at 33. The tubing 27 exten s through an opening 34 in the plate 1 and downwardly to where it connects with messes the nipple 12 associated with the casing 8.
The means 62 may in the present instance comprise a battle or spreader plate which is provided with a concave inner surface 35, the top convex surface at a median portion being provided with a stem 36 which is screw-threaded and passed through an opening in the top of the casing a, such baflle plate being secured by suitable means 37 and 38 carried by such stem 36 and on opposite sides of the casing a. Such baffle plate preferably has its median zone centrally disposed with respect to the mouth end of the tubing 27.
In operation, assuming that the su ply container 7) is filled with some liquid sudh as orange juice, and that the propulsive element or motor 3 is energized, the propeller 9 will be rotated which by induction will draw the fluid throu' h the port 10 and force it through the tubing 27 to where it will be forced under pressure against the beveled concave face of the spreader plate, which spreader plate in turn will spray the fluid in a fan-like form within the container a. By changing the bafile plates so that they assume various forms, spraying effects of the fiuid may be readily accomplished.
A device of this character is exceedingly attractive and readily catches the eye and by catching the eye will increase the sales of any liquid within the container.
It is obvious that various changes and modifications may be made in practicing the invention, in departure from the particular showing of the drawing, without departing from the true spirit of the invention.
Having thus disclosed our invention, we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent:-
1. A beverage dispensing apparatus comprising a transparent bowl-like dispensing container, overflow means therein for maintaining a predetermined beverage level, and means adapted to continuously supply beverage under pressure to said container thereby to keep the beverage remaining in the container in a constant state of agitation.
2. A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container, overflow means in said container for maintaining a predetermined level of the beverage therein, a deflector member, and means for continuously projecting the bevera e under pressure against said deflecting mem er whereby said beverage is precipitated into the bevera e held within-.the container to maintain tl u e same in constant state of agitation.
3. A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container, overflow means in said container for maintaining a predetermined level of the beverage therein, a deflector member arranged at the top of said container, means for continuously projecting the beverage upwardly under prestill lilll lOii hill
sure against the deflecting member whereby the said beverage is precipitated dovvnvvardly into the beverage held Within the container to maintain the same in constant state of agitation.
4c. A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container, an overflow pipe in said container for maintaining a predetermined level of the beverage therein, a deflector member carried by the top of the container, a supply pipe within the overflow pipe and having its discharge end spaced from said deflector, and means adapted to continuously feed bevera e to said supply pipe under pressure there y to project said beverage against the deflector late. p 5. A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container having an outlet for determining the level of residual beverage, and means for projecting the beverage in a stream from the side of the container in which the residual beverage is held to the opposite side, thereby to diffuse the stream of beverage and maintain the residual beverage in a constant state of-agita tion.
6. A. beverage dispensing apparatus ineluding a transparent container having an outlet for determining the level of residual beverage, and means for continuously projecting a stream of the beverage across the space in the container above the levelof the residual beverage, and means located in the path of said stream of the beverage for precipitating the same into the residual beverage to maintain it in a constant state of agitation and cause it to pass through said outlet.
7. A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container having an outlet for determining the level of residual beverage, a deflector plate Within the container, and means adapted to continuously project the beverage in a stream across the space between the level of the residual beverage and the deflector plate.
8. A beverage dispensing apparatus ineluding a transparent container and a receptacle constituting a supply reservoir, an overflow conduit communicating with the transparent container and the receptacle and having its inlet end arranged to determine the level of beverage in the transparent eontainer, the means communicating with said receptacle and with the transparent container for producing a continuously flowing fountain of the beverage in the center of the transparent container thereby to maintain circulation of the beverage in the container and receptacle.

A beverage dispensing apparatus including a transparent container and a receptacle constituting a supply reservoir, an overflow conduit communicating with the transparent container and the receptacle and having its inlet end arranged to determine the level of beverage in the transparent container, and means communicating with said receptacle and with the transparent container for producing a continuously flowing fountain of the beverage in the center of the transparent container thereby to maintain circulation of the beverage in the container and receptacle.
