Abstract

935,154. Dispensing liquids. W. H. JACOBS. March 14, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 9354/61. Class 116. A cap 25, e.g. of transparent plastic material, is provided at the bottom of the beverage container 16 of a dispenser for cooled beverages for covering a circulating pump 34, a discharge outlet 22, and a passage connecting the pump to the outlet, and formed between trough and inverted trough formations in the base of the container 16 and the cap 25, respectively. The pump 34 comprises vanes on a magnetic element 33 which is magnetically coupled to a magnet 13 rotated by a motor 12. The beverage is circulated by the pump 34 via the pump inlet 28, the passage beneath inverted trough 26, and a standpipe 39, and is dispensed by pressing the drinking vessel to be filled against a member 56 to raise a valve stem 50, so that the liquid flows out through an opening 52 and a radial bore 53 in the stem.
