SHIRT-SLEEVE HOLDER.

My invention relates to simple andeili cient means for holding the sleeve turned up the desired extent but does not destroy the appearance of the sleeve when turned back to normal position and which moreover presents a better appearance when the sleeve is turned up than is usual when it is rolled as heretofore. I attain this object by a variety of simple means which add little,

or nothing to the cost of production of the shirt and do not detract in anyway from the pleasing appearance of the garment at any time.

In the drawings Figure l is a perspective view oi the shirt constructed in accordance with my invention having one sleeve turned up and the other in normal position.

Figures 2, 3, a, and 5 are each perspective views of modified forms of fastening means.

The shirt A may be or. any suitable type having sleeves provided with cutl's B, which my be the turned-back cult illustrated in the drawing or an ordinary plain cull". These culls are provided with the usual. button holes C for reception of the cuff button.

On or near the shoulder seam Dis fastened a button 1 and to the inner member of the cult G is sewed a loop 2 which is adapted to cooperate with the button 1.

When it is desired to turn up the sleeve the cufi button is unbuttoned and the sleeve is its turned up position and leaves the arm of the wearer entirely free as is not the case when a sleeve is rolled or held by any fastening means which directly'engagesthe arm. Moreover, the sleeve can be turned to its position without in any way interfering with the pleasing appearance thereof when it is turned back to no "mal position.

Various modified forms of holding means may be employed. In the modifications shown in Figure 4, the button 1 is retained but instead (it the loop 2 a tab 3 of cloth is sewn on't-he inside of the cuff C and is provided with a button hole l which is adapted to be buttoned over the button 1.

In the form shown in Figure 3 the cuff and shirt are provided ith cooperating

I claim as my 1nvent1.on:-

, In a shirt having the usual body, sleeve and cult, means for holding the sleeve in turned up position, said means comprising a member carried by the body near the shoulder seam and a cooperative member carried by the inner side of the cuff.
