The improved.economizer and adapter as heretofore indicated is in the form of an attachment which is constructed in suoli manner as to be readily applied over the burner and held intact with the latter, it also being preferred to make the improved attachment adjustable so that the diameter thereof may be varied to fit burners of dierent sizes.
The improved attachmentconsists of an u'p- 10 are inclined, and this is one preferred construction. The upper flangelO having the crimped formation or-corrugations produced by the crimping operation will obstruct warping of the said upper flange, yand furthermore, when the upper extremities'l2 and 13 of the attachment are brought together and overlapped, the corrugations of the flange'l() will interlock and serve as a means formaterially vassisting in holding the said overlapped extremities kin associated relation. may be used to connect the overlapped ern tremities or hold the latter against displacement from a desired overlapping extent, but it is also preferred that a fastening means be used whereby the adjustment of the diameter of the attachment may be readily modified to such an extent as to accommcdate burners of various sizes. One means for holding the overlapped extremi ities l2 and 13 of the attachment in positive associated relation against movement consists of la wire 14, which is placed closely against' the outer side of the wall 9 and continued upwardly over the crimped or corrugated flange 10 and has the ends thereof bent inwardly closely against the inner side 'of the overlapped extremity 13 and the upper portion' of the flange 10 continuing from said .overlapped extremity as Clearlyshown Suitable fastening means ioo Cil

In an economizer and adapter for burners ofthe type specified, consisting of anknpward'ly and inwardly inclined body applicable over a burner and having an upper flange inwardly inclined at a greater angle than the body and crimped in an upward direction to strengthen the topof the ecouomizer and also to form flame and vheat flues, the extremities of the body and 'ange being separa'bly overlapped Vto modify the diameter o'f the device as a whole.
2. An economizer and adapter for burners of the type specified, having an upper inwardly converged body and an upper flange inwardly inclined at a greater angle than the body and crimped, the extremities of the body yand flange being separably overlapped ro modify the dimensions thereof,
the crimped portions of the upper flange at the extremities of the device engagingv each other and interlocking to assist in holding the said extremities in positive associated relation, around the overlapped extremities for holding the latter in engagement.
3. An economizer and adapter for burners of the type specified, having an upper inwardly .converged body with an upper flange inwardly inclined at a greater angle than thebody and crimped in upwardly inclined planes to strengthen the top of the economizer and also form flame and heat rines` the extremities of the body and flange being separalily overlapped to modify the diameter ofthe device as a whole, and fastening means separably applied around the overl apped extremities.
An economiser and adapter for burners of the type specified, having an inwardly converged body with a top flange inwardly inclined at a greater angle than the body, the extremities of the body being separably overlapped and provided with means removably applied -therearound for holding them in associated relation, the upper flange being regularly formed With corrugations at an angle ol inclination relatively t0 the vertical te strengthen the top of the econonnzer and resist crushing or bending of `the same and `also form flame and heat flues, the corrugations of' `the upper flange closely intertting and forming a locking means when the extremities of the body are overlapped and pre-venting ther said overlapped extremities from slipping and thus providing tor the use of a fastening means around4 the overlap-pcd extren'iities ot a simple character. f 1 In testimony Lvwhereof I have hereunto set my hand.
